Looking at how low the #10 sale was this week - could a good showing on iTunes from Liam Gallagher make a bigger difference than usual and actually nudge him into top 10? He always seems to stall between 30 and 15.

I saw the article on BBC News earlier about David Soul and I thought for a while that it was a different David Soul they were writing about - the headline just describes him as a Starsky & Hutch actor, and it only tangentially references him also being a singer until right near the end of the article and even then there's only one throwaway sentence saying 'oh by the way he had 2 UK #1s'. Maybe I'm just biased because I care much more about music than television but I feel like such a successful (albeit quite brief) music career really deserves to be a bit more than a glorified footnote in his obituary!

RIP x

I agree I mean he only had 5 top 40 hits between 1976-78 but two of them were multi week No1s 7 weeks in total at the top spot. ‘Don’t Give Up’ is def one I remember when hearing it on the old TOTP!

Here’s his polyhex chart run history out of interest:

Surprised to see Keiino turn up, I know it’s only about 5 sales but their only hit from Eurovision was nearly 5 years ago and they’ve released multiple singles since then which haven’t charted on iTunes UK.

Monument was top 50 and The Sun Always Shines On TV was top 100

Maybe it's inclusion in Norway's Melodi Grand Prix has boosted it's profile slightly

It’s their Eurovision MGP entry for 2024, which was confirmed yesterday, and became the favourite to represent Norway. It's surprising to see such enthusiasm for National Final entries, but we've it before with Italy, Norway, Sweden, etc.
