One puts “drivers license” on the jukebox. Another complains that it just sounds like a teenage girl sitting alone at a piano. By the end of their discourse, they’re all in tears, singing along. “I was driving around my neighborhood listening to really sad songs, like, crying in the car,” Rodrigo told Apple Music. “And I got home and I was like, ‘Maybe I’ll write a song about this: crying in the car.’” Rodrigo had tapped into a universal experience: The middle-aged guys weren’t teenage girls, but they’d also driven around listening to sad songs. Rodrigo was just 17 when the song came out, but she had been getting ready for years. Born in Temecula, California, in 2003, she started lessons in piano, voice, and acting as a child, and went on to star in Disney+’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. But, really, what could prepare you for breaking the global single-week streaming record for a female artist? Especially on your first single? And getting a nod from Taylor Swift in the meantime? (Along with “drivers license” winning the Apple Music Award for Top Song of the Year in 2021, Rodrigo’s debut LP, SOUR, was the Top Album of the Year and Rodrigo herself was named Breakthrough Artist of the Year.) Like Swift—and Lorde, too—Rodrigo has a knack for conjuring big feelings through small details: an ex singing along to their Billy Joel with his new love (“deja vu”), reading his self-help books “so you’d think that I was smart” (“enough for you”). Her content is all-caps, but her delivery is lowercase, lacing bedroom pop with a vulnerability and anger rare for teen pop: “Where’s my f***ing teenage dream?” she wonders on “brutal.” “I’m the biggest emo drama queen,” Rodrigo tells Apple Music. Maybe. But the key to letting it out is keeping it together. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2020 32 All I Want -OST- 2021 01 drivers license -1- MILLIONAIRE 2021 04 deja vu -2- 2021 01 good 4 u -3- MILLIONAIRE 2021 05 traitor -4- 2021 17 favorite crime -AT- 2021 36 jealousy, jealousy -AT- 2023 01 vampire -1- 2023 03 bad idea right? -2- 2023 07 get him back! -3- 2023 45 the grudge -AT- 2023 12 Can't Catch Me Now -OST- 2023 78 all-american bitch -AT- 3 x #1 | 6 x Top 5 | 7 x Top 10 | 9 x Top 20 | 11 x Top 40 | 13 x Top 100 Social Media Olivia Rodrigo http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png

Vampire remains perfection :cheeseblock: Glad its still serving longevity, it hasn't aged at all for me and I adore its build up  Also I'm really hoping Unwritten has been reset!

January 12, 20242 yr Author 27 | | 1st week Drake Practice Album track from Take Care Released: 15th November 2011 Label: Cash Money Records Chart Statistics NE (18/01/2024) | 27 Sales: 100k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 00 Sales 72 Audio Streaming 00 Video Streaming Video JUrDOWj9RUw Biography A year or so after Thank Me Later hit, Drake was browsing art in L.A. when a neon sign caught his eye: “LESS DRAKE, MORE TUPAC.” At first he felt like ripping it off the wall. Instead, he bought it. After all, he figured if someone puts your name next to Tupac, you must be doing something right, even if they’re trying to take you down. Born Aubrey Drake Graham in Toronto in 1986, he—like Tupac—became the voice of a generation and prism for his pop-cultural moment. Was he an R&B singer who rapped or a rapper who sang? Was he really that sad, or just exploiting a cultural preference for male vulnerability? From the jump, he let his contradictions define him: Tender, but cruel; sober one minute and drunk-dialing the next; a guy who could convince you he was an underdog from his perch on top of the world. Lurid as his inner world is, the proof lies in his reach outward. A Drake project can incorporate house and club music (2022’s Honestly, Nevermind; 2017’s More Life) and red-eyed trap (2022’s 21 Savage collab Her Loss) with equal conviction and at no loss to the subjectivity at the center. “I obviously spend a lot of time in my own world,” he told Apple Music. “But when I do take a look at the broader scope of things… I've always tried to make music that transcends gender, nationality—to try and unify people. Because that’s really what it’s about.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2009 42 Forever (feat. His studio creations and energy behind the decks are a direct reflection of this personality. Equal parts groove, melody and eccentricity the Dutchman avoids jumping on electronic music bandwagons at all costs. “I could make club music fodder all day, but that would just bore me shitless. I like to challenge myself and my audience a bit more than that!” says Mason on his production ethos. You may know Mason from his breakout single back in 2007 (‘Exceeder’), yet he would be the first to tell you that things have moved on a hell of a lot since those times. The boy has released three fully-fledged artist albums featuring a plethora of guest artists. Recent partners in crime include Dragonette, Jack Garratt, Stefflon Don and Alex Clare. In what is becoming a very trend driven, genre-specific world Mason constantly strives against the norm by creating music on his own terms. He pays no heed to what this month’s current media darlings are dropping nor does he wear a baseball cap or have full sleeve tattoos either. What Mason does have is a unique vibe and ‘fuck you!’ attitude to making music that is both infectious and refreshing in equal measure. - Spotify Princess Superstar With two top 20’s under belt including “Bad Babysitter” and “Perfect Exceeder” (#3 on the UK charts), Princess has recorded 7 astonishing albums. She has had numerous collaborations w/ Armand Van Helden, Moby, Kool Keith, Prince Paul of De La Soul, Chilly Gonzales, DJ Hell, The Prodigy (she was featured on their album which went to #1 in the UK,) the legendary Arthur Baker, Stuart Price (Madonna), & more. Her dance smash with Larry Tee “Licky” was featured in two #1 movies “Get him to the Greek” with Puffy and Russell Brand; and “Hall Pass.” She was featured on Grandmaster Flash’s album w/Q-Tip, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg and other hip hop legends. She was even also an early producer/mentor of the #1 artist Lana Del Rey. Princess is also a comedian -collaborating with famed comedian Margaret Cho; and on Inside Amy Schumer. “Look what I Found!” is a collection of B-Sides & Rarities of her 25+ years in music with production Andrew Wyatt (Miike Snow, Lady Gaga) "Still Perfect- Best of Princess Superstar" featuring a remix by Todd Terry out now! In 2021 she brought the Cougar anthem Gettin' Older (P**** Still Pop!) a hilarious anthem about aging and staying fierce! 2023 brings us the introspective and massively cool song and video "Who am I Now."
