Posted January 11, 20241 yr Lil Nas X has mentioned Gaga in a tweet in response to many saying that he is channelling Madonna/Gaga with his upcoming single J Christ. Lil Nas X responded with the following: @1745105887822250381 ... which has sent Gaga and Madonna fans into overdrive as his tweet has come across as disrespectful and dismissive of the artists' legacies. What are your thoughts on his tweet? Disrespectful or not?
January 11, 20241 yr I read some of those reactions and... I don't think he really meant much when typing that. He is obviously very bothered about his own new single and what it represents and how people react. But he is also a bit blind if he can't see that the shock value alone doesn't take him far. Hope the song is good, the video snippets with impersonators don't seem promising. Edited January 11, 20241 yr by Sour Candy
January 11, 20241 yr What a terribly worded comment. He’s clearly fans of both of them but that’s worded terribly. The difference between Gaga especially and him is does he have the versatility and talent to completely switch and reinvent. Imagine him having a Sound of Music at the Oscar’s style tribute performance up his sleeve when the haters start to write him off. Gaga may well have controversy but above all else has major vocal talent and is a rounded musician to boot when Lil Nas X drops the controversy is there as much to rely on? January 11, 20241 yr Author It is worded badly. "Idgaf" about them is such a rude, dismissive and negative way of saying "I'm doing my own thing". He clearly does "give a f***" because he's mentioned them and then seemingly dismissed them. He's making controversial pop music... how can he NOT site Madonna as someone who has come before and paved the way for him. It comes across as rude and I'm not here for it really.
January 12, 20241 yr Author Some chill pills need to be taken here :kink: Agreed! Lil Nas X needs to just chill and respect other artists! ^_^
January 13, 20241 yr His song doesn't seem to do super well, wonder if all the disrespect caused a bit of backlash.
January 13, 20241 yr The song is #80 on Spotify global, not sure which chart they are referring to

January 14, 20241 yr What a strange thing to take pleasure from. Do you think that? I don't think so, especially after what he said.
January 14, 20241 yr His song doesn't seem to do super well, wonder if all the disrespect caused a bit of backlash. It definitely didn't lmao. Twitter 'backlash' is not real life and especially not this bullshit sorry. xx
January 14, 20241 yr No that post is not a personal attack against Gaga and she is not being negatively affected by this in any way x
January 14, 20241 yr No that post is not a personal attack against Gaga and she is not being negatively affected by this in any way x This! It’s clearly a general post of frustration and nothing to do with the girls specifically. Lil Nas has enough barriers to break down without fans of two very successful cis white women needing to take offence and attempt to rip him down over nothing. Honestly some people are pathetic 🙄
