Welcome to Week 1 of the best and worst #3 polls, in conjunction with the UK #3 singles listening sessions!

I've created the shortlists taking into account comments during the session (from what I could glean amid general multitasking). Vote for as many as you like, and feel free to vote even if you haven't attended!

Voted for Little Richard, The Crickets and Danny And The Juniors in the best poll (the rock'n'roll era tellingly picking up towards the end of the session).

Nothing too terrible this week, but I can see why Jimmy Boyd's version hasn't become a modern-day staple of Christmas playlists.

Voted for my top 5 of those options:

01. The Crickets - Oh, Boy!

02. Winifred Atwell - Let's Have A Ding Dong

03. Little Richard - Long Tall Sally

04. Danny And The Juniors - At The Hop

05. Muriel Smith - Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me

'I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus' for worst

Hmm, let's go with Let's Have a Ding Dong, Rockin' Through The Rye, Oh Boy, At The Hop & Bloodnok's Rock 'N' Roll Call (:cheeseblock: at the Goons making it in x)

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus for worst, dodgy song anyway but those vocals were particularly excruciating x

I voted for Winifred Atwell, Teresa Brewer, Little Richard, The Crickets and Danny And The Juniors

David Whitfield and Pat Boone for the worst.

Voted for my top 5:

Muriel

Bill Haley

Little Richard

Crickets

Danny and the Juniors

Went David Whitfield for worst - his style was so incredibly turgid

I'll stick with my standard of voting for my top 3 faves and my 1 worst - Winifred Atwell was an easy highlight today with my other 2 votes going to Danny & The Juniors and The Crickets and Teresa Brewer (Teresa Brewer, Little Richard and Frankie Laine not far behind), while my worst vote goes to the naffness of that Billy Cotton & friends track.

edit: oops actually I completely overlooked 'At The Hop' somehow - that's actually my 2nd favourite so if someone with the power to can add a vote for that and remove one from Teresa Brewer please

Muriel the best, the Mum kissing Santa thing the worst

Muriel, Little Richard, Harry belafonte, Danny & The Juniors for me. I like Winifred and Crickets though too.

Billy Cotton for worst, it's payback for all those TV performances I had to sit through in the 60's on his variety show. we only had 2 TV channels so it was a captive audience :o (I did quite like him, but not his music)
