I'm so happy to see YG Marley in the top 5 with this song. There is something so warm and comforting about this track. Reggae as a genre has that effect. It really stands out in the chart.

He's just trying to sound exactly like his grandfather. Meh!

Benson's overturned a 1.4k gap between him and Teddy since Wednesday :o impressive when the gap had actually grown between Monday and Wednesday. Gonna predict Benson #3 and Sophie keeping #2 thanks to her physicals :magic:
OMG! Amazing top 3. The best in years maybe. :D
Oh good this Teddy Swims song is evil Heart FM fodder.

They've added Stick Season as well.

Hopefully Britney's Toxic will do a Murder on the Dance Floor and Unwritten and return to the top 40 soon. It's played in the Madame Web film. Also could help Songer please! :w00t:

So is Dreams by the Cranberries and Scandalous by Mis-Teeq. I’d rather any of those two got reset instead of Britney

Biography

A need to connect authentically drives every aspect of Benson Boone’s artistry. From his unflinchingly honest lyrics to hand-drawn artwork, there is no buffer between him and the listener. That’s particularly true of “GHOST TOWN,” the 19-year-old’s astonishing debut single. A poignant piano ballad about moving on, this is the calling card of a major new talent. Incredibly, “GHOST TOWN” was one of the first songs Boone ever wrote. But the Monroe, Washington native has a habit of being very good at things without realizing it. In fact, his musical talent only emerged by coincidence when he was asked to sing in a friend’s band. Now, he’s making up for lost time. So much so that Boone plays multiple instruments on “GHOST TOWN” including the drums, guitar and piano, which he picked up by ear. The multi-talented teenager even drew the striking cover art. That desire for a genuine, unfiltered connection with fans is why he stepped away from American Idol, despite wowing judges at auditions. Instead, Boone connected with Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds. “It was our first writing session together when I realized [benson] is a once in a generation talent,” Reynolds says. While the newcomer is still at the very beginning of his music journey, he’s in it for the long haul. Boone’s goal is to make songs that stand the test of time. With “GHOST TOWN,” the singer/songwriter takes an auspicious first step towards achieving it. - Spotify

 this is how I feel. It'd be nice if he wasn't screaming the chorus, but even then it's very uneventful tbh.

Biography

Sophie Ellis-Bextor had her first breakouts as the frontwoman for the ‘90s Britpop act TheAudience and as a duet partner for Manic Street Preachers. Yet the English singer—who was born in a London suburb in 1979—found her true calling as a dance-pop diva when she contributed vocals to “Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love),” an ebullient house track by DJ Spiller that became a No. 1 single in the UK in 2000. Ellis-Bextor continued her momentum with 2001’s “Murder On the Dancefloor” and many more hits that showcased her irresistible blend of wit, effervescence, and vulnerability, along with her unabashed love of disco. Her penchant for old-school grandeur is just as strong on later releases like 2019’s The Song Diaries, a collection of newly recorded orchestral versions of her hits, including a take on “Groovejet” that’s worthy of a James Bond soundtrack. - Apple Music

Biography

As Noah Kahan changes, he casts those experiences onto songs like light through a film projector. At the core of the music’s upbeat energy and unfiltered lyrics, you’ll hear who he was before and who he became — almost in real-time. The Vermont singer still pens songs straight from the heart and still cracks jokes with his signature, self-deprecating sense of humor; he’s just changed in all of the right ways (and chronicled them via his songwriting). He gained that understanding through quite the journey from small town Vermont to global renown. He’s racked up over one billion streams, released two full length albums (Busyhead, 2019 and I Was/I Am, 2021) and a mid-pandemic EP (Cape Elizabeth, 2020), picked up a Gold Certification for “Hurt Somebody” feat. Julia Michaels, and performed on television shows such as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and TODAY. Not to mention, he’s collaborated with everyone from Joy Oladokun to Chelsea Cutler to mxmtoon to Quinn XCII to Gryffin. After 5 years of critical acclaim and global touring, he sought an even purer style of writing and arrangement, a challenge from within to convey a vivid representation of what he loves, fears, and struggles with most passionately. Now, Noah continues to progress with his highly anticipated new album Stick Season out now. - Spotify

Beyoncé hasn't had a UK #1 hit since Telephone in 2010, so it'd be nice to see her get her 6th #1 next week.

Each to their own of course, but I'm surprised to see it being called "uneventful" with the way it builds and shakes up its sound - the verses and chorus are very different!

7 weeks at number 2 without getting to number 1 for Sophie.

The all time record in the UK is 8 and dates back to 1953

7 weeks at number 2 without getting to number 1 for Sophie.

Isn't "Moves Like Jagger" the other song she's tied with?
