July 10Jul 10 Author BJSC 186 - Anne Hathaway Not going to lie, last month was a bit frustrating for Herbilore. With numerous top 10/20 predictions, we finished comfortably outside of the top 20 and barely scraped into the final.....It really is the story of our life that we underperform against predictions/expectation.....So anyway, this month we're going with an Oscar winner! Anne Hathaway contributed vocals to numerous songs from recent flick Mother Mary. The movie was a bit underwhelming but we had a moment seeing and hearing the in-film performance of Holy Spirit 2.Here's hoping her proven ability to win awards will help us to qualify for the final! We hope you enjoy :) Final Position: 12th in SF2, 31st in Grand FinalPoints scored: 60 in SF2, 133 in Grand FinalThanks for the following nations who gave us points:Semi Final:12pts FSR Rontvia 12pts Yehesi 8pts Ojnoj 5pts Ben's Sanctuary4pts Hendinia 3pts Aeroche2pts Flynnonda2pts Eledan2pts Pestolia2pts Juranabaijan1pt TaahinoFinal:15pts FSR Rontvia 13pts FARC 13pts Numayania 12pts Skall12pts Yehesi11pts Ojnoj 9pts Nelionoir7pts Altyr Muunilist7pts Sovarasma7pts Eledan5pts Aeroche5pts Juranabaijan3pts The Spodic Empire3pts Flynnonda3pts Ennea3pts Ben's Sanctuary3pts Dalisska1pt Hendinia1pt Bøtanikkä Edited August 11Aug 11 by Herbs

August 11Aug 11 Author BJSC 187 - Boys Go To JupiterSo we're at that point again. We've qualified twice in a row and now we aim to do something we've never done before - get a third consecutive qualification. The odds are against us - in this position before, we've finished 24th, 22nd (robbed!) and 27th in the respective semi final. So of course we've gone for a ballad.....Boys Go To Jupiter are a New York based three piece, who've had comparisons made to Chappel Roan of all people! 'Lovers Always Lose' is a superb slice of emotive pop, taking solace in self-deprecating views and a delicious melody.Or, as Chat GPT would have you believe, it's time for HERBI-BOOOOOOOOOORE!Either way, we hope you enjoy :) Final Position: 20th in SF1, 40th in Grand FinalPoints scored: 54 in SF1, 102 in Grand FinalThanks for the following nations who gave us points:Semi Final:12pts New Lexico 10pts Harmonica 7pts New Helvetica6pts Kylienips6pts Ennea 5pts Trifoski5pts Pagasa 3pts Aelandor Final:18pts New Lexico 15pts Ajanaeda 13pts FSR Rontvia 13pts Harmonica 11pts New Helvetica10pts Trifoski7pts Ennea5pts Sovarasma2pts Altyr Muunilist2pts Greenfroze 2pts Aeroche2pts Scotland 21pt Zanmatony1pt Pagasa Edited August 25Aug 25 by Herbs

September 6Sep 6 Author BJSC 188 - Cibo MattoIn BJSC 187 we finally achieved our 3rd consecutive qualification - although it was a bit anti-climactic coming 20th in the semi final and almost last in the final.....For 188 we put some genre descriptions out there to see what people would want - and from that they chose Cibo Matto, a Japanese/American trip-hop duo whose main musical output was from the 1990's and early 00's. After Keaton Henson, this is probably the least amount of lyrics you're going to get from a Herbilore song. Well, it worked for us before! The video is also a cracker - pay close attention! The song was also used to great effect in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, a show that was famous for featuring unknown artists in the fictional Bronze setting. We hope you enjoy :) Final Position: 16th in SF2, 11th in Grand FinalPoints scored: 61 in SF2, 201 in Grand FinalThanks for the following nations who gave us points:Semi Final:12pts Trifoski 12pts Zanmatony 7pts Pagasa6pts Bøtanikkä6pts Deandria5pts Aelandor5pts N DNTN3pts Aeroche2pts Mothertopia2pts Bronzil1pt EledanFinal:18pts Zanmatony 18pts Trifoski 15pts Nelionoir 15pts Pagasa 13pts Dalisska 13pts Deandria 11pts N DNTN10pts Jadakissnia9pts New Helvetica9pts Pestolia9pts Bøtanikkä9pts Scotland 28pts FSR Rontvia8pts FARC7pts Aeroche7pts Fljotavik7pts Persephonia6pts Terra Avium4pts Bronzil2pts Eledan2pts Mothertopia1pt Aelandor Edited September 21Sep 21 by Herbs

September 21Sep 21 Author BREAKING NEWSHerbilore will be going Italian for BJSC189.But will we be sticking to alt-lite, or will we be returning to our pop roots.....?!
September 22Sep 22 Author 12 hours ago, uhsting said:the best performing entry from an nf… but with anonymity congratsssssWhat’s crazy to me is I didn’t qualify by much! I think both my top 20 finishes have now come from songs that struggled to qualify from their semi final!
October 6Oct 6 Author BJSC 189 - Levante Well, we finally beat our best ever performance in BJSC 188 - it only took 20+ contests to finish higher than 15th and almost break the top 10 with Cibo Matto (a moments silence for The Vaccines, who no longer hold our peak)It’s become evident to us that pure pop just doesn’t get us great results, leaving us on the cusp of qualifying every time….So why not stay with one foot in the alt-door?! Our 189 entry comes from Italian singer Levante, with an alt-lite slice of dance pop that stays true to the Herbilore brand (our people at first didn’t know how to respond to Sono Blu but can now be found raving to it in a random warehouse near you….) We hope you enjoy :) Final Position: TBC in SF1 Points scored: TBC in SF1
