Biography

As Noah Kahan changes, he casts those experiences onto songs like light through a film projector. At the core of the music’s upbeat energy and unfiltered lyrics, you’ll hear who he was before and who he became — almost in real-time. The Vermont singer still pens songs straight from the heart and still cracks jokes with his signature, self-deprecating sense of humor; he’s just changed in all of the right ways (and chronicled them via his songwriting). He gained that understanding through quite the journey from small town Vermont to global renown. He’s racked up over one billion streams, released two full length albums (Busyhead, 2019 and I Was/I Am, 2021) and a mid-pandemic EP (Cape Elizabeth, 2020), picked up a Gold Certification for “Hurt Somebody” feat. Julia Michaels, and performed on television shows such as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and TODAY. Not to mention, he’s collaborated with everyone from Joy Oladokun to Chelsea Cutler to mxmtoon to Quinn XCII to Gryffin. After 5 years of critical acclaim and global touring, he sought an even purer style of writing and arrangement, a challenge from within to convey a vivid representation of what he loves, fears, and struggles with most passionately. Now, Noah continues to progress with his highly anticipated new album Stick Season out now. - Spotify

Still enjoying K*****n Stove.

The guy is just a poser. :P

First time hearing Homesick because... well, I'd never choose to listen to Noah Kahan of my own accord, and it's MUCH better than Stick Season. Possibly helps that I do somewhat enjoy Sam Fender's voice.

Biography

Whether she’s penning defiantly joyous singles like “I Love It” or exploring her darker side, Charli XCX is proof that you don’t need to stay in one lane to become a massive success. Born Charlotte Aitchison in 1992 in Cambridge, England, to Scottish and Gujarati Indian parents, Charli took up songwriting at 14, lifting her stage name from her instant messenger handle. On the strength of her MySpace uploads and performances at London raves, she landed a record deal at 18, released the modestly successful darkwave cuts “Stay Away” and “Nuclear Seasons”, then hit the big time with 2012’s kiss-off anthem “I Love It”. Originally scrapped from her own album for being too poppy, the beat-pounding re-recording by Swedish duo Icona Pop quickly became a worldwide dance-floor favourite. Her goth-tinged debut album, 2013’s True Romance, and tracks like the psychedelic, Gold Panda-sampling "You (Ha Ha Ha)” soon positioned Charli as the missing link between Grimes’ freak scene, Lorde’s dark melodies, and Carly Rae Jepsen’s sweetness. Never one to repeat herself, she’s built a track record as a prolific songwriter and collaborator, penning hits for Iggy Azalea (“Fancy”) and Selena Gomez (“Same Old Love”) and working with the likes of Lil Yachty, David Guetta and BTS. She even followed up the 2019 eclectic, star-studded Charli with 2020’s intimate how i'm feeling now, an album written with fan input during her six-week pandemic quarantine. One thing is clear: Charli XCX’s creative drive and willingness to take risks has made her one of the most unique, enthralling artists of her era. - Apple Music

Canadian singer, dancer, and actress Tate McRae balances emotive, intimate alternative pop and pulse-pounding, R&B-inflected dancepop. Following her viral emergence in 2017, she released her debut EP, 2020's All the Things I Never Said, featuring the Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell co-write "Tear Myself Apart." She followed with her first Billboard Top 20 hit, "You Broke Me First," from 2021's Too Young to Be Sad EP. McRae delivered her debut album, I Used to Think I Could Fly, the following year, hitting the top 5 in Canada and cracking the top 20 of the Billboard 200. Biography

Sophie Ellis-Bextor had her first breakouts as the frontwoman for the ‘90s Britpop act TheAudience and as a duet partner for Manic Street Preachers. Yet the English singer—who was born in a London suburb in 1979—found her true calling as a dance-pop diva when she contributed vocals to “Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love),” an ebullient house track by DJ Spiller that became a No. 1 single in the UK in 2000. Ellis-Bextor continued her momentum with 2001’s “Murder On the Dancefloor” and many more hits that showcased her irresistible blend of wit, effervescence, and vulnerability, along with her unabashed love of disco. Her penchant for old-school grandeur is just as strong on later releases like 2019’s The Song Diaries, a collection of newly recorded orchestral versions of her hits, including a take on “Groovejet” that’s worthy of a James Bond soundtrack. - Apple Music

Biography

With an irrefutable aptitude for writing chart-smashing pop songs and a reputation as a pioneer in electronic music, BRIT Award-winning Becky Hill is one of Britain’s most in-demand music artists. Described by David Guetta as “one of the very rare queens of dance of music”, Becky has written and/or performed on 17x UK Top 40 singles, including five Top 10 singles and one UK #1, and amassed over 4 billion streams on Spotify alone. Her BPI certifications total 13x Platinum, 11x Gold and 14x Silver records, and she was the third most streamed British female solo artist on Spotify in 2021, behind only Dua Lipa and Adele. Her Gold selling debut studio album, ‘Only Honest On The Weekend’, released in August 2021 and peaked at #7 on the UK Albums Chart, spawning Platinum-selling UK #3 single ‘Remember’, which also ended the year as one of the most streamed and best-selling songs of 2021. Alongside her solo career, Becky has also collaborated with everyone from Rudimental to Little Simz over the last decade, as well as writing songs for and/or releasing with a whole range of artists; from dance titans like MK, Tiesto and Jax Jones right the way through to pop royalty in MNEK and Little Mix. - Spotify

Hoping Charli climbs and doesn't disappear next week, it deserves it
This feels v high all of a sudden for no reason. Has it really climbed that much in streaming?
