Saturday at 04:303 days Nah, they'd only go for it if it was big on Radio 2. This is what they're trying to do, it's airplay hits now. There was a time when Now only included Radio 1 and Top 40 songs but they had to change their approach after the charts slowed down ridiculously. Only thing is, even Radio 2 generally forget that a lot of their veteran act playlist choices even happened the moment they fall off their playlist. They played Spike Island by Pulp* to death in May, it probably won't be on ever again now as the only old songs they really play are actual hits. Radio 1 aren't much better for that, it's only old A-list songs that get on as recurrents really, most B-list songs are gone forever once they leave the playlist. So in a way, you could thank Now for ensuring anyone thinks about 2020s Pretenders songs ever again!*Wouldn't have been a bad shout for Now 121, maybe Rough Trade told them to pee off or they didn't try. It's been a pretty high-profile comeback! Edited Saturday at 04:313 days by HiyaLuv!
Saturday at 12:073 days The best way to save the numbered series from disastrous sales is a better track list and to also release them on double vinyl seeing as more people are buying vinyls than CDs nowadays. If they can’t squeeze all the songs onto the vinyls, then only include the hits from the CDs and leave off the radio 2 songs
Saturday at 12:343 days The numbered Nows can’t be saved from disastrous sales. This is just where things are now.

This is just where things are now.As I said earlier, lots of people are preferring vinyl to CD. Releasing the numbered series on vinyl would help a little bit oh and another thing, £10.99 would be a reasonable price for the CDs. £13.99 is also putting people off from buying them
Saturday at 13:113 days People won’t spend money on vinyl for the tracks Now are accessing for their numbered editions. The Yearbooks sell well because they contain songs that appeal to people who buy vinyl.

Happy Monday! So genius, how did they manage to release the numbered Nows before on vinyl? Their albums including their pointless spin-offs get announced 4-5 weeks prior to release date and some of those get the vinyl treatment so what’s what different would it make to releasing the numbered series on vinyl? As for the lead times on vinyl being ludicrous, that’s why stick to double vinyl and only select the hits for the vinyl edition or do triple vinyl and include all songs including radio 2 artists. And why are you responding to my comment regarding Sam Fender on disc 2 with an answer for vinyl? Wrong response Edited yesterday at 08:431 day by Hadji
Yesterday at 10:021 day In the 90s there were still loads of vinyl plants in the UK, now there are not, so that's why they could be released at speed back then and put out at the same time as the CD. Nowadays they would need to be produced abroad where the demand far outstrips the supply. So it would be completely impossible to have a set of current hits pressed on vinyl to release on the same day as the CD (anything newer than two months wouldn't get on). At absolute best it might follow the CD six weeks later, by which time very few people would buy it.What might work, and like what Bravo in Germany did last year, is to just release one best of the year vinyl at the end of every year. Get it pressed in October (as most hits of the year have already happened by then) and have it ready for release in early December. The spin-offs and Yearbooks will be planned and sent to the vinyl production plants several months ahead of time, we just don't find out about them until 4-5 weeks before. They don't include current hits so Now don't have to be as reactive with getting them into production. It doesn't mean they are not already in production when they are announced 4-5 weeks before, people will just sign non-disclosure agreements so that nobody finds out about it outside the Now team until they are ready to announce it.
