what I still don't understand is

why didn't he include Too Sweet in the original version of the album and is only putting it out now with the deluxe?

He hasn’t said, just that he felt the Unheard tracks didn’t fit in the original album “for different reasons”. ‘Too Sweet’ (supposedly) wasn’t going to be pushed a few weeks ago, so they clearly didn’t realise how well it would be received.

Maybe it didn't fit the album theme, I think the album is based on Dante or something like you know this trip to hell or something

so maybe it didn't fit, although I'm not sure if all tracks on the album are related to that...

Wow imagine thinking he would EVER potentially have a bigger hit than Take Me To Church? What next, Passenger returns with a 2024 #1 as well?

But this is seriously good, can't believe I'm liking it as much as I am.

#1!

Is it possible that the Northern Attitude feature kinda put his name back out there after a lot of the GP forgot about him post TMTC?

Well done for his first UK #1!

Wasn't expecting him to do this well after the second album release years ago.

I don’t think it was specifically that, Eat Your Young did pretty well for him last year.

glad he got his first UK & Ireland #1, now we need the US #1 :D

he talks about the meaning behind the song in here

That’s true I forgot about Eat Your Young, though it only had a handful of weeks on the chart didn’t it?

It did, but showed the strength of the fanbase he’d built up since his last album. They’re not quite as big of course, but they’re similarly very very loyal.

He has waited a long enough to get his number 1 so I'm sure it means a lot to him and he is probably as surprised as we are by the success of it.

It's good too it's giving his album sales a bit of a lift aswell.

new US #1 yay :)

First #1 for Hozier in the US after Take me to Church stalled at #2

and first Irish #1 in the US since Sinead's Nothing Compares 2 U in 1990!!

at least the US was spared of Westlife and Boyzone :D
