I really don’t see how he stays at #1 this week looking at iTunes, Apple Music, and Amazon and with only a very slight lead on Spotify. I’m sure he’ll extend his lead on Spotify throughout the week but I genuinely see Texas reclaiming the #1 this week.

Beyonce peak days are done it should be all to Benson’s advantage from here. But I give Beyonce a 1500-2000 lead at this stage but it will be close

Texas has 2 versions in top 5 on iTunes and another at #28, has had 2 versions of Texas in Apple Music in top 20 for past 2 days (now combined at #1), is #1 on Amazon Music, and has a 44,000+ stream lead on Spotify. Even if Benson has a 200,000-300,000 stream lead on Spotify by end of week, I’m not sure he gets the #1. I don’t think it’s as close as you guys think it’s going to be.

So instead of looking at how the entire project performed, or Beyoncé's overall catalogue, you're specifically looking at a single song and then basing your entire judgment on that? Sounds like real sound logic there.

The project was not only 27 songs, it also lasted for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Which immediately reduces replay value. It's not like they were 27 songs at 2.5 mins, which would actually boost streams. You're arguing a totally bizarre point.

It's more logical than looking at album streams when we're discussing her status as a pop star - where singles matter more than albums. She's not doing the Spotify numbers you'd expect for a supposed superstar. To classify a track as a outright success on Spotify I'm looking for at least 1m streams - yes I know it's a high bar but it's been done on a number of occasions (including relatively recently by Dave and Central Cee, Miley Cyrus and Harry Styles). Beyonce is nowhere near that league with her numbers. I'd have expected the Miley Cyrus duet to at least threaten those thresholds but it hasn't.

You might want to re-read the second half of the post your quoting which addresses what you've just said about the album tracks. She's doing fairly low streaming numbers on a per-track base compared to her other big pop stars.

You’re just straight up trolling at this point. Beyoncé’s album has been an insane success on streaming. Moving the goalposts to suit whatever narrative you’re trying to push is just bizarre.

I've had that Meghan Trainor song come on automatically quite a few times in the last few days after listening to something else. She's not somebody I typically listen to so assuming it's being pushed onto people in some regard.

Props to her for extending the run of relevance she gained back with Made You Look. Reminds me of when Moves Like Jagger lit a fire under Maroon 5's then floundering chart career.

I'm not moving any goalposts - I posted the Top 10 daily streams for singles list of what I consider 'insane success' much earlier in this thread. It's singles that matter not albums in the 21st century. Beyonce has been successful with this album by her standards - I'll accept that. She has after all done more than her last album streaming wise. However that doesn't make it insane success by general standards. Plenty of albums have done similar or better per-track streaming numbers including Ariana Grande a few weeks ago.

1 million daily streams isn't the criteria for a superstar, it's when a song really taps into the zeitgeist and is almost *never* on an artist-by-artist basis. None of Dave, Central Cee or Miley have achieved the numbers their massive 2023 #1 hits achieved with any other song, but Sprinter and Flowers just caught on in such a big way for varying reasons. Even the absolute biggest hits don't always hit 1m+ daily streams, Stick Season for example. The daily peak isn't what matters and it's absolutely not something you can use to downplay success and move goalposts to suit the narrative you want to portray.

This is just not true though

Anyway, good for Slow It Down to be up a spot on typically the worst day of the week for new music. Beautiful Things being back to #1 is promising too, intrigued to see how the battle for the official #1 plays out!
Artemas would be one of the best #1's this year if it can make it

Would be the best by quite some way given what's got there this year!

Hopefully it should get it next week, if it carries on climbing as it has done

I think albums are still important though. I mean the last Miley album didn’t do overly well but ‘Flowers’ was a mega smash! So it’s a single by single basis.

She's not doing the Spotify numbers you'd expect for a supposed superstar.

Yes, achieving the second-highest streaming day of any woman ever surely indicates a lack of star power... This woman debuted in the 90s ffs. Your expectations aren't only illogical, they're utterly ridiculous.

For total streams not per track. You keep quoting this stat without the context it's a 27 track long album. That's almost double most other artists albums, it's play count is artificially inflated by that which you seem unwilling to recognise.

Still nothing from trippie red or MGK feel sorry for them at this point

I was looking at todays numbers rather than yesterdays. I'll put my hand up to being wrong on that one.
