July 8, 20241 yr 'Starburster' took me a couple of listens to get into for some reason but I absolutely love it now, has become pretty addictive. 'Favourite' has been more instant for me but still think it'll grow on me more, a very different vibe, very dreamy and nostalgic sounding. Shaping up to be another great era from them.
July 23, 2024Jul 23 ^It was the opposite for me- “Starburster” was an instant fave and “Favourite” has taken its time to grow on me. Enjoyed the live session that they did for Steve Lamacq on 6Music last week, was interesting to hear about the influences and concepts for this album. I definitely heard the Cure influences coming through in the guitar work on “I Love You” a few years back, and certainly think “Favourite” shares a lot of the same dna of “Just Like Heaven” which is one of my favourite Cure singles. <3 Really excited for the album!

August 6, 2024Aug 6 I dont really know what generic means when it comes to Fontaines DC though :lol: fair enough :lol: it's out now, the verses are good but the chorus sounds like something Radio X will be playing five times a day for the next ten years (I suppose that's what I mean lol)
