I believe Dua is on SNL tonight, should be good promo. Taylor did 445k second week US so prob 190k third week can't see Dua beating that

Yes SNL tonight can't wait :w00t:

Dua also has 30min BBC Live Lounge special airing on Monday on BBC One but it's quite late at night 11.15pm. Then it's being played on Radio 1 on Tuesday night

I don't think the streaming numbers are gonna be great but she should sell a good amount of physicals

for Du Lipa? She's no Taylor, if you were expecting all her songs to do over 1 million... that's not gonna happen

No obviously not but I was expecting most of the tracks to at least make the top 50

Will be interesting to see where Dua lands. I imagine the singles, These Walls and EOAE will do the best.

Crikey.

Dua Lipa:

23. Illusion

35. These Walls

37. Training Season

39. Houdini

89. End Of An Era

139. Watcha Doing

180. Falling Forever

186. French Exit

Other new entries:

157. Becky Hill - Right Here

164. Zerb & The Chainsmokers (feat. Ink) - Addicted

Sad for Dua. How does this compare to FN, I think she at least had 3 in the top 10 right? It's a shame as I think this album is probably nearly as strong as FN but it doesn't have the same bangers so isn't resonating as much. Maybe overexposure has a role to play as well, she was just #1 with a smash hit last year and FN era didn't finish til 2022. Plus she's always getting major publicity no matter what.

Hope she can bounce back to getting full on smash hits, maybe a deluxe edition of the album that's a bit bouncier and psychedelic?

Bad for Dua. She does not have a real solid fanbase. She has great label support from the start hence radio and streaming have backed her. This is the start of the end unfortunately of being hugely successful. Most people I know think her songs all sound the same now and that she lacks charisma to a certain extent.

The album will sell poorly after week 1.

FN had all 3 singles top 5, 9 of the tracks in the top 50

That's a bit of doom and gloom  I'm fairly sure the streaming numbers will be ok for a while, but overall popularity isn't on the level it could be with better strategy.

It is a bit negative but the streams speak for themselves. The way she performs is the same too in terms of the way she moves and dances. Just doesn’t feel natural. The pop landscape is fickle and you have to be extra special to survive a la Kylie and Madonna.

Lol she's spent a decade in the business already and is still getting hits. The numbers aren't incredible but the album is sitting at 700m streams or something on Spotify alone just from singles. She'll be perfectly fine. Her team can take notes from what's went right and wrong this era and work on it. Sounds like you just dislike her

Releasing three singles before the album killed any hype as they were just the same sort of dance/pop sound as she has always done and each was progressively worse than the last.

There was no this sounds so different to what I expect from Dua Lipa I'm curious what the album sounds like. It was just more of the same.

All big artists have to reinvent themselves and elvolve their sound to stay ahead of the game, which is what Dua hasn't done. I think there will be another album quickly after this one (summer 2025) to try and get things back on track. Even Rihanna popping out an album a year had to jump genres, do ballads, different looks, styles to keep ahead of the game and people interested.

I like some of her songs actually and she seems like a nice person. You can’t disguise the streaming for the album is poor. She has blanket Spotify support and 2 of the most streamed albums ever. All 11 tracks should be Top 50 on day 1 especially in the UK. Something is not clicking that is all I am saying. Plenty of others posting the same comments on other chart forums too!

There goes her chance at a #1 album.

Also think this kinda proves those of us who pointed out that she was underperforming so far weren’t wrong to acknowledge it.

Taylor will do 35-40k this week in total. Will Dua sell around 30k physicals? She will need to to be #1.
Ouch @ Dua. Feel bad for her, she was so excited for this release and seems really proud of the album but the quality just isn't there. Hope she still has strong enough physicals to just nab the #1 officially but with streaming numbers this poor on day 1, I don't think it's happening
