August 18, 2024Aug 18 The Corrs <3 My first musical obsession. Talk On Corners was the first studio album I was ever given and I know it inside out and then bought the Forgiven, Not Forgotten album belatedly in early 1999 (along with everyone else, when they held 1 and 2 in the album chart simultaneously). I will never get bored of listening to them, it was a moment in time to have a band with a heavy trad Irish influence like that producing such successful commercial pop music - although many album tracks showcase this much better than the singles. Pleased to see such a big climb for them, partly because I didn't vote in the last one I suppose. Nice to see Busted on the rise although they were narrowly outside my top 30.
August 18, 2024Aug 18 Forgot about The Corrs! Love them Foals never listened to Busted had some ok songs but much preferred McFly
August 18, 2024Aug 18 Busted only have 8 hits , i am not a fan but thought they had more! Same! This stat has slightly blown my mind.
August 18, 2024Aug 18 They all reached the Top 3 though! And they also had a couple of double A-sides. Their albums were massive sellers (especially compared with McFly I think).
August 18, 2024Aug 18 Author Another 30 pointer tomorrow! Corrs first act to attract 10 voters whilst 2 acts tomorrow got 11 voters each!
August 18, 2024Aug 18 Those first two Busted albums were great and I still enjoy listening to them - even if I'll never like them as much as McFly! I guess no one bothered voting for McBusted as a band...

August 19, 2024Aug 19 Author Tomorrow we'll finally get to the top 50 and that means a recap plus updated voters chart with 4 voters climbing into the top 10 from the last update!
August 19, 2024Aug 19 Think my Chilies top 3 is “Under The Bridge”, “Otherside” and “Road Trippin’”, but the “By The Way” album and some of their later stuff is brilliant too.
August 19, 2024Aug 19 The Backstreet Boys have always been something of a guilty pleasure for me - they've recorded some of Max Martin's best work, in particular I adore 'Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely' and 'As Long As You Love Me' RHCP are consistently great, Californication, By The Way and Stadium Arcadium are all great albums (even if the latter could have done with trimming to one disc). Their most recent couple of albums have been great listens too. Wham! were good for what they were but I don't really go back to them much - I think 'Freedom' and 'I'm Your Man' are their two best songs. There is a certain seasonal song of theirs which I would be happy to never hear again
August 19, 2024Aug 19 The backstreet boys with the most ‘voters’ so far!! Spiceboy selecting RHCP must be because he wrote a song about Melanie C 😉
