BIGGEST HIT: BABY LOVE (#1, 1964)

Three quality acts to kick off the top 50 (although U2 lose me after 2000 generally)

U2 were one I really should’ve included in hindsight but somehow missed them!

It’s funny when I do these lists I always seem to miss pretty big acts off and then remember when the results come in.

Not too fussed on U2 or Beach Boys, both have good songs but not many I’d go back to

Supremes are good, but again I don’t know too much of their stuff. Need to have a listen to more of these bands

I'll have to suggest The Beach Boys for the next rate in the retro forum, either they've made a huge leap into the top 50 or, more likely, they've been snubbed without my 18 points from last time and some re-evaluation is needed :D

Never in doubt :kink: I did think they would appeal to a few more voters this time around, it was only when the points rose above 100 that the doubts started to creep in. A full house of the groups who had my sole vote last time have appeared now :cheer:

All three groups today got my vote last time, great to see The Supremes climb into the top 50 too. U2 had my 25 last time which would probably have kept them top 40, and I would have voted for them again if I'd charted 'Atomic City' last year, but alas.

Amazing climb by The Beach Boys.

Though I'll always think of this ad from growing up in the 90's in Australia when somewhen mentions them

Nice climb for TLC

Be interesting to see which group ‘forum’ is the first to leave!

My prediction is it will be S Club!

- S Club

- Steps

- Take That

- One Direction

- Sugababes

- Girls Aloud

- Little Mix

- Spice Girls

Is my prediction on the order the groups will go out.

Can't believe I forgot U2! They should have made it into the lower end of my rating, maybe they might have just missed out tbf.

I think you’re spot on, with Take That going between Girls Aloud and Sugababes.

Ooh I forgot them, I'm gonna edit. I think Take That will be below Sugababes but above Steps!

^ One Direction and Little Mix the other two.

As for The Beach Boys, I think they had one of the best runs of singles of all time in 1966 with “Barbara Ann”, “Sloop John B”, “God Only Knows” and “Good Vibrations”. That was definitely their zenith but they had some interesting more experimental later singles like “Heroes And Villians”.

Pet Sounds was a truly game changing and incredible album that still sounded amazing today, one of my favourite discoveries from my album bucket list. U2 are one of my favourites, their discography has rough spots but at their best, they do anthems like no other.
