Well, I hate to come here as the only post so far of not complete positivity but I’m a little disappointed :( I do like pretty much every song and I particularly like the run of How Bad Do U Want Me

This sold 219k in the US, and 74k of that were vinyls - her biggest vinyl sales week ever!

Sam's last album sold 43k first week while Chromatica sold 53k. I don't see LG7 opening with less than 40k, especially if she gets it right with second single.

But if it's really going to drop in February, she has to announce it before Christmas to have a good pre-order period. Gaga is not the type of artist who does well with surprise releases.

On LG7, meanwhile, which has a February release date, Gaga says you can expect the unexpected; The star allowed herself the freedom to create without limitations or labels—with a clear emphasis, of course, on a return to dark-pop, a sound she made her signature on The Fame Monster more than a decade ago. “The album is chaotic from a genre perspective—it is genre-bending, and I think in that way is a deeply personal look into my mind as a producer and the way I think about music,” teases Gaga. “When I write and produce and sing songs, I am always drawing upon my knowledge of the history of music, and so many artists and producers that came before me. In that way, this album is a celebration of a lot of the music that made me who I am, because when I returned to a darker pop style of pop, all my early experiences with music came out.”

Like all her albums, the record also has a clear personal storytelling journey, with a focus on wanting to offer her fans a sense of escapism. “I wrote a lot of various fantasies and escapes,” says Gaga. “The only place reality is really present is that these fantasies are coming from a real person, trying to soothe their inner chaos. That’s where I found the reason for why I make this music. Each song is an exercise in personal chaos—a way to deal with myself.” But seeing how this is a Gaga record—get ready to dance through it all, too. “The album is not extremely serious in that its very fun and meant to be enjoyed at a party, in a club, or at home having personal fun time—to be free of your worries at home or walking through life,” says Gaga.

Producer Cirkut praises Lady Gaga in recent interview:

“I’ve been a fan over the years, she is just a legendary artist. There’s only one Gaga, and she has influenced so many of the artists who are out now. I think her music paved the way for so many people. Selfishly, I did want to see what I could accomplish with her. Just the thought of wondering what a Gaga record would sound like if I produced it was really exciting from the get-go.

[…] She is very interested in the sonics of everything. She would say, ‘Maybe try a different drum here,’ or she would hop on the synths and start playing things. She’s a musician and a visionary, and she knew all about the attack, decay, sustain and release settings on a synth. She is all about the details, which definitely sets her apart from a lot of artists. Also, the passion that she puts into her work is amazing. She really lives and breathes and eats and sweats and bleeds this music.”

Amazing praise for her and her creative mind!

We love to read that!! Although it's been well-known since the Five Foot Two doc where there was extensive footage about her in the studio. She really WORKS the songs and nothing is half-hearted.
  • 2 weeks later...

There’s moments where we are sonically just trying to push sound as much as possible. There’s other moments where it’s all about love, and it’s super dreamy. That, to me, is true chaos. There are times when it’s hard to see the light, but I think sometimes what makes inner chaos harder is when you sometimes get a glimpse of the sun, because you’re like, ‘Man, I wish the sun would shine all the time,’ and then it reminds you of what you’re missing. So the album has all of that. It’s like a full experience.” - Lady Gaga about her upcoming album

Sounds super exciting!

The full interview for Rolling Stones reveals lots of very exciting information! Some summaries:

Genres: "When you press play, after the first few songs, you think you know what you're getting into, but then, you don’t."

Teasing a song: "This (Disease) is not the only song on the album that it's like that... there is one I'm thinking of in particular, that I'm very excited for the fans to hear. It was the very first song that we wrote for this album, and it's like: hard hitting beats, and those big sweeping Queen vocals and some Bowie guitars. I guess in a way that's kind of me."

On her various projects: "People try to put me in a box. What is she? It's dance music, now it's country, now she is singing jazz, now she wants to be an actress. I am a woman in music. I am proudly a woman in music and I'll make what I want."

I didn't like any of these supposed titles. Perfect Celebrity could be the title of a Pitbull album and Inner Chaos is tacky. :lulu2:

Also, y'all delusional, because she didn't leak any concrete info about the album, she kept going around in circles and only broke down the creation of Disease. The only solid info (which I didn't want to know) was that there is another song like Disease on the album... One was enough. :arrr:

"There are so many different genres on this album, and I think my favorite thing about it is the chaos of it all, and the nuance we had to bring to put it all together." - Lady Gaga about #LG7 during Carpool Karaoke

Another chaos mention :gaga:

Good news to y'all, DWAS will be on LG7

Is the song connected to whatever’s happening on LG7?

Absolutely. “Die With a Smile” is on my record — it’s a huge part of my album. It was like this missing piece. The record is full of my love of music — so many different genres, so many different styles, so many different dreams. It leaps around genre in a way that’s almost corrupt. And it ends with love. That’s the answer to all the chaos in my life is that I find peace with love. Every song that I wrote, I just kept getting kind of swept away in these different dreams I was having about the past — almost like a recollection of all these bad decisions that I made in my life. But it ends in this very happy place.

She also mentions that Gesaffelstein is involved with LG7 and hints that there is a ballad that's not on the album but might be released later :naomi:
