June 10, 20241 yr He's been on a podcast with Steven Bartlett now saying he regrets letting the One Direction boys own the name One Direction, pretty much because he can't make any more money from them using the name if they don't want to. :lol: This is definitely just a money grab for him, and I do feel like Simon's very out of touch and wouldn't support a group of impressionable young people or give them a nurturing environment (Rebecca Ferguson is a prime example of how bad things can get under Simon's management) even if a new boy band on the scene is something I'd be very interested in.

I know the very nature of boybands are that they're supposed to be pretty young, but I think it's even harder for people to get into the industry at a young age now - in some respects. On the one hand, they'll probably be looked after better, but the social media aspect isn't all that kind.
