The first quarter-final sees a battle of the heavyweights and a repeat of the Euro 2008 final as the tournament favourites Spain take on the hosts Germany at the MHPArena, Stuttgart. For Spain they had an early scare against Georgia thanks to an own goal but comfortably got through in the end with a 4-1 win over Georgia, Spain had 36 attempts at goal in that match. For Germany they got through against Denmark which was notable for the match being suspended for 20 minutes due to a thunderstorm and some VAR controversy.

How do we see this one going?

Last Four Meetings:

27/11/2022- Spain 1-1 Germany (World Cup)

17/11/2020- Spain 6-0 Germany (Nations League)

03/09/2020- Germany 1-1 Spain (Nations League)

23/03/2018- Germany 1-1 Spain (Friendly)

For me the winners of Euro 2024 will come from this match. Really intrigued to see how this plays out.
These two should really be the final 2 based on play so far, brutal draw. Should be a good match though, I think I'd side with Spain narrowly, but this will definitely be their first real challenge.
Germany got home advantage and the rest of the teams need them to beat Spain because nobody else will
This has the feelings off a de facto final, you'd imagine either of these teams will see off the competition in the semis and final should they make it - given the 'easy' bottom half of the draw.
