September 12Sep 12 Good things do come to those who wait it seems. I'm glad to see the polls going in reverse for farage and reform. Edited September 12Sep 12 by JSG
September 23Sep 23 The left is fractured with about 55%, and the right is just split across 2 parties. Ir's why it's so hard to beat them at elections

Yesterday at 12:351 day I've been sayin for years now that a pledge to rejoin thr EU would skyrocket Labour. It eould even have saved Keir
Yesterday at 15:031 day Burnham has until the end of November to call an election on these numbers whilst he’s still in his honeymoon stage. If he bottles it, then it’ll be a Tory victory at the next election. There’s a World of Pain coming with the finances in 2027, and if he wants to get ahead of it he should go to the polls in front of it, whilst nobbling both the Tories and Reform so they can’t mount an effective opposition when it hits.

That would be the worst thing he could do. Keep the labour majority he has now whilst continuing to wrangle the party to the left - eating away at the Greens' support whilst allowing reform to continue to fragment the conservative vote. Then set the foundation for the next election with the likes of rejoining the EU (or the single market) as part of the labour manifesto which should then make the left less fragmented/give Labour a fighting chance of staying in power with a reduced majority.Either way it's nice to see the polls in Labour's favour for now with the Burnham boost. Although the first budget in a couple days could completely change that - we'll see.
