August 31, 2024Aug 31 I think I’ll qualify the Top 5 of each year into a best of the decade contest. ;) 1957 on the way soon!
August 31, 2024Aug 31 Didn't vote but glad 'Heartbreak Hotel' made the top 5. In the spirit of the early/mid-1950s charts, as there's a joint #7, shouldn't the song below be #8?

August 31, 2024Aug 31 Why Do Fools Fall In Love is a great winner. Thanks Julian for keeping this going.
September 1, 2024Sep 1 Thanks for running this Julian and for doing 1957 too! I cant quibble with the top 10 there, the ones I'm not fussed about are acknowledged classics, just not to my taste in comparison to others available, so I think as a group of voters we are getting everything right really! :yahoo:
September 1, 2024Sep 1 I was fully expecting to be the only one to vote for my top record "That's Right" because it's pretty obscure, I'd never heard it myself until a couple of years ago. It's also one of those records you either love or hate. I am however surprised to be the only one to vote for my number 2, "Rip It Up". I'll be even more surprised if the inferior Elvis version gets any votes in 1957, though me mentioning it may prompt somebody to do just that. There are some similarities I have with others though with my 3rd and 4th choices finishing in the Top 2.
