Ooh okay I like this idea of Mark being entwined in the Ravi story. It does make me wonder if there's a "big boss" who we know and is yet to be revealed.

It’s Aunt Babe💜

I actually really hate Zack as a character these days. Him being Barney’s dad remains absolute bullshit.

I’m also not up for this making us feel sorry for Ravi crap.

This just doesn’t feel like it’s getting any better.

I swear Mark was nothing like this first time round? I know people change in 10 years but he’s just giving budget Grant. I know he’s his son, but, and I know I say this every bloody page lately, but it’s like fanfic. Oh we can’t get Ross Kemp back so let’s just recast Grant’s son and bring him back as a different character.

Why would someone raised by Michelle Fowler, purposefully away from Grant, end up like that?

YES IT'S TOTAL HORSE SHIT!!!!! Really unfair on Teddy and just absolutely ridiculous for the sake of drama and to give him something.

Just axe him, he's awful, down there with wet wipe Callum - and I actually prefer Callum to him!!! That's sayin somethin

Because blood is the reason for everything. It’s why Zach is such a good dad to Barney. It’s why Kat and Zoe really want Jasmine around despite the fact she’s clearly a horrendous person. Plus we need to be reminded over and over that Grant exists and what better way than having some generic angry young man for characters to tut at and say ‘ you’re just like your father’ even though he has only spent a mere few hours with Grant his whole life.

He’s just a random young thug character they’ve slapped a known name on to. Mark, Jasmine, Bea, they’re all paper thin characters with few redeeming features. Oscar seems to be the only decent character introduced by Wadey so far.

Yep 100%, these are just paper thin fanfic ideas and he thinks the idea itself carries a whole storyline.

Like yeah on paper, the secret love child of a Slater and a Trueman who comes and falls in love with Max Branning’s son?! Amazing. But Wadey just has these potentially good ideas and doesn’t form a character around it, and that gets old fast when they are rammed in our faces as much as Jasmine has been. Like she’s only been in the show for 4 months and has been utterly spent and has everyone desperate to see the back of her, but really we know nothing about her. It’s almost impressive to wring a character dry to this extent without getting anything at all out of them lol

It's like they've got all the right ingredients on making amazing television (the cast right now is one of the best the show could have... apart from Bea, Howie and Peter!) but still manage to f*** it up.

Oscar's shit as well and canae act

Oscar is a great character and a fine young actor. He really is a stand out from this era even though he’s bogged down with Jasmine drama.

Great character?? They pair hin with the old people, as he STICKS OUT LIKE A SORE THUMB AMONGST THE TEENAGERS!! He looks about 30, acts like it, and his acting - especially drunk - is woeful. Did you not see him slurping and ahhhhhing when having a beer the other day!!! Atrocious.

I think it's smarter to not lumber Oscar in with Amy, Denzel, Nugget and Avani because he's not on their wavelength when it comes to storylines so it would feel unnecessarily forced if they went with that. Instead he is better integrated in with his own family and other stories there as he was reintroduced to us with a criminal record. He certainly feels older than he is and perhaps they've tried to acknowledge that on screen by referencing his age and birthday recently.

I do think Oscar appears more like a 22/23 year old, but that aside I think he's integrated really well. They've really considered his bonds with other characters, from the obvious Max and Lauren relationships, to the more inspired bond with Patrick which existed even without Jasmine in the equation. Not sure why it's worked so well for Oscar when all of the other new characters in the Wadey era have been caricatures, or written so inconsistently that it's impossible to understand who they're meant to be as a character.

Speaking of, Bea fighting off that shoplifter today gave me second hand embarrassment 💀

Alice Haig absolutely smashed the court scenes today, even if I find some of the other stuff around it a bit annoying - Zack's presence in general screams shoehorning, and some of the courtroom dialogue felt amateurish but that's not new for EastEnders. Max Marshall also brilliantly unlikeable today so props to him!

You’re not an authority on acting or what’s good in EE. Oscar as a character and an actor has shown promise. The only other teenager, other than Jasmine of course, that I’d like him paired with is Will who unfortunately doesn’t get much screen time. The adults you refer to are his FAMILY. Why wouldn’t he share scenes with them?

None of your comments ever make any sense and I tire of them.

Really struggling with Bea tbh. Another failed introduction, I don't understand how they expect anyone to care about her?

How is the B&B so full already! It's become a dumping ground for the cast weeks after opening lol

It's surely not cheap either, given that the councillor wanted special rates, and it's marketed as a luxury hotel

Bea is AWFUL as well. Not ONE new character comes across as real. At best, cartoony, at worst, just ridiculous

Yea Alice really was the stand out today, she's been such a welcome introduction, I agree that Oscar is as well, him and Lauren carry the Branning/Beals. Max Murray played Joel in court brilliantly today as well, he doesn't need dialogue just the little smirks and cocky mannerisms were perfect and exactly how I'd pictured him being.

What the f*** was Bea and her judo tho fs

Alice Haig was a great signing. Still yet to be sold on Mark Jnr, him and Zach seem a bit interchangeable.

Do they even have a plan for Bea. She’s so weird but not in an iconic way.

100%, the trial stuff today shows the great characters they do have. The likes of Vicki, Avani, Priya, Kat, Tommy…. And yet here we are wasting time on Bea scheming to get an entry level job at the Minute Mart because she’s going all Single White Female on Honey. Thrilling.

I can’t believe stuff like that gets as far as filming.
