April 22, 201510 yr At least Geronimo is getting played *somewhere* then... Pleased to see Walk The Moon playlisted by Radio 2, I wonder if this means Radio 1 have decided not to playlist it? Can records playlisted by Radio 2 subsequently get picked up by Radio 1 the following week, or does that not happen?
April 22, 201510 yr Yeh they play the same songs a lot - do you mean if it's added to this playlist radio 1 won't add it?

May 27, 201510 yr Eurovision overload on this week's update, Conchita AND Måns both on the B-list! :cheer: Alesha Dixon is on the A-list and Leona is record of the week.
May 27, 201510 yr Not complaining and YAY for Radio 2 but in what world is Heroes more suited to sonically to Radio 2 than Radio 1? I wonder sometimes if Radio 1 would ever playlist a Eurovision song even if Ellie Goulding entered for the UK.
May 27, 201510 yr Not complaining and YAY for Radio 2 but in what world is Heroes more suited to sonically to Radio 2 than Radio 1? I wonder sometimes if Radio 1 would ever playlist a Eurovision song even if Ellie Goulding entered for the UK. the key word being "if". Because let's be honest Ellie Goulding would never do Eurovision for us, or when she did it would be years after she stopped being relevant (see Engelbert Humperdinck and Bonnie Tyler)
May 27, 201510 yr I don't think Rich was under the assumption that Ellie is a likely candidate for Eurovision. She's just an example of a radio 1 darling that he imagines would still be ignored on the playlist if she was entered, so I don't think "yeah but she wouldn't enter" really adds anything.
May 27, 201510 yr Exactly, I just handpicked somebody that Radio 1 would seemingly play without fail. The same case could be made about any of 20-odd other artists. It would be an interesting scenario though to see exactly what would happen if one of their A-list hoggers decided to go for Eurovision. SURELY if Ed Sheeran did it for example they wouldn't snub it? I've always found it interesting how Radio 2 is seen as 'the Eurovision station', even though some of the songs are completely musically unsuited. I wish they'd judge it on a case-by-case basis. With something like Calm After The Storm or Rise Like A Phoenix I can see why Radio 2 is more suitable but Heroes? It's almost tailor made for Radio 1 and not at all what the average Radio 2 listener will expect to hear on the station.
May 27, 201510 yr It's funny because Heroes sounds exactly like that Guetta song that I hate. (Probably slightly better). Radio 1 hammered that. It's just pure snobbery. Yay for Radio 2 adding some of the songs, though I much prefer Firestorm by Chonchita. Edited May 27, 201510 yr by Joe.
