Bimini did her first solo performance with band yesterday in London and she included a cover version of No Good Advice! Queen supporting queens.

Kelli Young from Liberty X did a live chat with Kimberley, a nice watch! https://www.instagram.com/p/DJFUTousetq/

"Kimberley and Nicola are on Zoe Ball’s breakfast show tomorrow morning on BBC Radio 2 where I imagine they will be talking about their charity events"

Thanks to -SNS- on Popjustice for mentioning this!

Ah interesting. Will be lovely to hear them on the radio again

They are on from the 2 hours 6 mark, it’s on the radio 2 website now

I am unsure where this would go but throwback to them singing Hopelessly Devoted To You on I think it was The Grease show in 2003, thought it is appropriate giving Olivia Newton-John's passing

That song is one of those that always sounds wrong when sang by anyone who isn’t Olivia she owns that song, her voice is simply stunning on it.
It not the type of song suitable for a group, as its an emotional song it should only have 1 singer like the original.

The girls’ version is nice enough but, yeah, doesn’t hold a candle to Olivia’s. Such a beautiful song.

It’s a bit jarring seeing 2003 Girls Aloud sing such a sweet innocent song like that considering their moodier image at the time. This feels like a slight attempt to soften their image although also not quite not knowing where to take them.

Somebody on Twitter has teased what is seemingly a collaboration between Girls Aloud and Primark! Photos shared from a screen:

I wonder in what respect it involved Sarah (re: her name being included in that image  )

The tweet hasn't really picked up any traction, so hopefully they don't feel like this has been spoiled.

I wonder if there's anything else forthcoming from Girls Aloud besides this campaign? There's only two months to go until it's 20 years since the group formed.

Interesting to see exactly what this will be, it got me thinking i wonder will any of the original girls aloud songs ever get picked up by other artists to be used as samples or features, it would be nice to see at least 1 song get the treatment and bring girls aloud to a new audience, call the shots to me is a song that could work really well in a collab context.

Kimberley on This Morning, saying that a 20th anniversary celebration or reunion isn't on the cards:

"It's been 20 years in November, so obviously we're not really doing anything as a group to celebrate that, for obvious reasons, but I think what's been really nice is that we've been able to come together and do some really positive fundraising for Sarah's charity. It's been incredible, we've funded a whole research project that she wanted us to raise money for - we are really proud of the fact that we've managed to do that for her. And then we've got our Sound of the Underground re-release and all of the money is going to go to breast cancer research and the hospital that looked after Sarah, so that's been a really good way of us finding something positive and a way to channel that.

We did a gala for Sarah last weekend, and we were all together and lots of our GA family were there and actually it just felt really special to have that night, but I just feel like for all of us it would just be too painful. We're so grateful that we had the time that we did and that we can find a way of doing something positive."

I'm not fussed, I think their reasons are totally understandable and reasonable. I'm on board with the thought of all their albums getting released on vinyl, I think that would be a great way to celebrate their legacy; it puts the focus completely on the music and the memories fans share and doesn't ask the girls to do something that would be difficult for them.
I'm okay with it too, they shouldn't feel obliged to reunite unless it's something they all feel comfortable with doing. Like you say I hope their legacy is celebrated with vinyl releases, and it would be great if their presence on streaming could be tidied up a bit. There's quite a lot of missing singles, B Sides, remixes.

This, every single word.

Absolutely, I agree with you both. Just getting the albums all on vinyl is something I am manifesting for next year. Hopefully if Fascination Management are still actively involved then we'll be able to have their streaming and digital music presence bought up to the standard it deserves to have.
