It's still such a shame that their Instagram and Twitter followers/likes are so low, but really it's the fault of whoever deleted their social media presence back in 2013. Absolutely no forward thinking there. Having to build up a follower base from scratch as a legacy/inactive band is hard...

Twitter: 1,373 followers

TikTok: 3,854 followers (obviously not around when they were active)

Instagram: 5,299 followers

Their Facebook, which wasn't got rid of, has 487k followers - so that's something, at least!

Kelli Young from Liberty X did a live chat with Kimberley, a nice watch! https://www.instagram.com/p/DJFUTousetq/

18 years ago... I want to my first ever concert, which was Girls Aloud on the What Will the Neighbours Say? Tour at Hammersmith Apollo! :o

I saw this tour too but at the Blackpool Opera House!

Don't think this was already posted, sorry if I overlooked it. Kimberley and Nicola joined Years & Years as special guests at Hoopla, on Sunday! They performed The Promise and Call the Shots. Nicola sang that Sarah ad-lib in The Promise.

Well let's be honest Kimberley couldn't  :teresa:

Nadine performed solo at Hoopla. Why didn't she join them? :???:

She was there the day before!

Maybe three without Cheryl would be a bit too close to a Girls Aloud reunion.

 I'm glad that the forum has been fairly active recently!

Totally and utterly agreed!

That music video though... so cheap but they make it ICONIQUE!

I get the feeling that the record label were ready to disband Girls Aloud at this point what with the GH package (the band didn't particularly want to release), the cheap video, the cover of ITWAN. Then the huge (and I think unforeseen, but incredibly deserved) success of the album of course made them change plans (thank God, can you imagine a world without Call the shots   )

#3 frustrated me at the time! (Maybe it still frustrates me :kink: )

When SKO entered straight in at #5 on downloads sales alone it was such a promising start that I did allow myself to get my hopes up that it would climb to #1 - but McFly and Fedde Le Grand were too strong <_<

It's interesting because McFly's 'Star Girl' fell away really quickly from the Top 40, which had become typical for them (1-9-19-27-out) whereas SKO went (5-3-3-7-12-9-14-18-28-32-21-28-out). So at the time SKO was undoubtedly the bigger hit of the two, outside of that one week. SKO sold 147,000 in 2006 vs Star Girl selling 86,000. But in the streaming era 'Star Girl' really hit its stride... silver in 2015, gold in 2020 and platinum in 2023. Something Kinda Ooooh went silver in 2009 and gold in 2021.

:cheeseblock: I'll have to watch! Hopefully that'll attract some sales/streams afterwards!
