Celebrity Race Across the World • Series 2

BAFTA award-winning Celebrity Race Across the World from producers Studio Lambert, returns for a highly anticipated second series at 9pm on Wednesday 14 August on iPlayer and BBC One.

The four new famous faces embarking on an epic 12,500 km race of a lifetime are: broadcaster Jeff Brazier and his son, Freddy; actor Kola Bokinni and his cousin, Mary Ellen; broadcaster Kelly Brook and her husband, Jeremy and Radio 2 host Scott Mills and his husband (then fiancé), Sam.

Their journey begins in Belém, Northern Brazil - the gateway to the Amazon - and will pass through five checkpoints across the length of South America, to reach the finish line in the Andes, Frutillar in Southern Chile.

Not as thrilled about the cast this time (loved Billy/Harry/Mel before the last series aired), but will always love a new series of Race Across the World

Yeah I know what you mean - Hopefully its good though - the format (should hopefully) overcome the Celebs :D

Be interesting to actually see/ hear Freddy Brazier, given he's kinda overshadowed by Bobby most of the time.

Also intrigued to see the route they will go on - as it's quite similar to one of the route featured on one of the regular series

Enjoyable series. I'd have been happy with any of them winning but I'm impressed at the top 2 given how small their budgets were by the end.

Certainly not the easiest sprint to the finish line they've had - climbing a volcano!

Well I definitely didn't see that victory coming, although I was really happy for them... I was convinced that the Braziers were most likely to win but they pretty much self sabotaged - I don't blame them for splashing out on a nice meal etc but the trip to the swimming place seemed such a weird choice of diversion and a bit out of character for them to suddenly do that on the final leg. I sometimes wonder if they are told to do stops like that by the production team because they need places to show as part of the episode.

I think this is almost a given, as it wouldn't make for particularly good telly otherwise.

With the celebrity edition, there's nothing at stake. Not even a prize for charity, so it's a pride thing as much as anything. Maybe that gave Jeff & Freddy a bit more freedom, so to speak.
