Robbie Williams fans have been issued with a strict queue warning ahead of the legendary performer's intimate show in Manchester later this week.

The Rock DJ singer will be playing a special one-off show at Aviva Studios on Friday (February 27) as part of the BRITs Week series of gigs, which celebrate big acts at small venues in aid of the Warchild charity. In Manchester, there will also be shows from Olivia Dean, Josh Baker and Rossi. this week as part of the line-up.

Announced only a few weeks ago, Robbie’s show sold out almost instantly with fans snapping up the opportunity to see the singer, who often takes his tours to stadiums across the world, in an intimate setting. Aviva Studios can have a capacity of around 7,000 depending on the show.

In a message shared at the weekend with those who successfully managed to buy tickets for Friday’s gig, it has now been warned that fans must follow a certain procedure when it comes to queuing otherwise they risk losing their spot in line for the show.

Organisers have said that for ‘everybody’s safety and wellbeing’, overnight queuing or camping will not be permitted in any way. The official queue will begin from 10am on the day of the show (February 27) and fans have specifically been told ‘do not arrive before 10am’. If they do, they face being excluded from the early queue.

Adding to the instructions: “Any fan-made queue, list, numbering system or wristband scheme that has not been organised by the venue will not be recognised. If we believe an unofficial queue is forming overnight, our security team or Duty Manager may ask people to leave the sit and will explain that overnight arrivals will not be permitted to join the official early queue when it opens at 10am.”

The announcement was made after another intimate Williams show earlier this month saw fans queuing up hours ahead of the performance - causing obstructions in the area. His show at the Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow on February 4 saw fans queuing up as early as 2am, with Williams’ team later issuing a statement ahead of a second show, at the Liverpool Olympia on February 6, which said that as ‘the venue is on a busy main road with narrow pavements’, it had been advised that ‘queuing is not safe, nor do we allow overnight queuing/camping’.

The statement for the Liverpool show, which was shared with a number of fan pages, added: “We are thinking of your safety and would advice against putting it at risk, even though your enthusiasm to attend this show and our venue is appreciated”.

The Manchester show will come just one day before the BRIT Awards take place at Co-op Live. The Jack Whitehall-hosted show, on February 28, is set to feature performances from the likes of Harry Styles, Wolf Alice, Sombr, and Rosalia, as well as a special number from Kpop Demon Hunters vocalists EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami. There will also be a host of takeovers and special pop-up performances this week in the lead-up to the show, which will be shown on ITV live.

Robbie Williams issues damning response after brutal TikTok video about Manchester musician

Singer Robbie Williams has shown his support for a musician from Leigh after a social media post that went viral online. He was backing Thom Rylance, the lead singer and frontman of chart-topping band The Lottery Winners, after a TikToker posted a video questioning why he attended the BRITs.

In a video shared on social media entitled 'The UK are inventing people again', the TikToker shared photos from the red carpet stating "So now the BRIT Awards were a whose who of 'who the f*** is that' as he expressed his view that the UK "doesn't have any real celebrities". He then said he has "no idea" who Thom was, along with a number of other musicians who attended the ceremony on Saturday (28 February).

Thom decided to repost it with a message of his own for the TikToker, jokingly apologising that he was sorry he didn't know who he was, but also informing him that a lot of fans, followers and music press know who he, and The Lottery Winners, are. "You don't know who I am, that really is a problem, we'll do better," he quipped.

Thom and bandmates Katie Lloyd, Joe Singleton and Robert Lally make up the Lottery Winners, the hit Leigh-born band who have enjoyed major success over the last few years including two number one albums, appearances at Glastonbury and backing from some of the biggest names in music. Last summer, they supported Robbie on his Britpop UK an EU tour, and on Friday night they warmed up for the singer at his BRITs Week show at Aviva Studios.

In his video, the Lottery Singers frontman said: "Hello mate, it's me, Thom Rylance, the lead singer of the Lottery Winners, Thom Rylance, I'm sorry you don't know who I am and that's upset you, and I do take full responsibility for that but I just want to let you know that I've not been invented.

"What actually happened is me and three of my mates started a band years ago and really tried to hard to make it a thing, worked relentless every day writing songs and playing pub gigs, neglecting our social lives and financial responsibilities and until one day we got two of these, number one albums.

"And then I got invited to the BRITs and pretty soon we'll be headlining a stadium, and I'm sorry you don't think that qualifies as a celebrity and to be honest I don't think I'm a celebrity either, but it was a music awards and I'm a musician.

"I was thinking you don't know who I am but all the people that bought an album know who I am, and all the people who are coming to the stadium know who I am, and the people who send out the invites to the BRITs know who I am, and the journalists that were on the red carpet know who and I am, and I know who I am, but you don't know who I am but that really is a problem, we'll do better."

Thom and Robbie have also struck a close friendship in recent years after the band's 2024 hit single ‘You Again’, featuring Reverend & The Makers’ Jon McClure, caught the former Take That star's attention.

Thom previously told the Manchester Evening News: "Rob, I call him Rob, reached out because he heard our song and then he said he did a proper deep dive and watched everything on YouTube and every interview of us.

“He Facetimed me and we had a good chat for an hour and half, now we’re calling each other four or five times a week. Sometimes it’s in Lidl, sometimes when I’m in bed, sometimes when I’m on the toilet, we’ve become so close, we’ve become best friends."

And that friendship has resulted in a huge show of support for the frontman after his latest post, with Robbie describing Thom as "the most important person I've met in the last 12 months."

In the comments section of Thom's video, Robbie Williams added: "Someone's who's brought me a huge amount of sunshine in my life. The most talented, kind, funny, charismatic human being I've come across in 35 years in show business.

"A man who works himself into the ground every day creating something out of less than nothing. In the process he's earned two number one albums, a legion of fans, and the respect of a pop industry that usually prefers to chew people up and spit them out.

"And you want to casually diminish him because you don't know who he is? Well I've no idea who you are either...but I think we've learned everything we need to know rather quickly."

The video, which has been seen by over one hundred thousand people, gained more than 7,000 likes and thousands of comments, saw even more famous names jump on board. Reverend and the Makers quipped: "I know who Thom is. He's my mate. So leave him alone or I'll set my mom on ya. And she's r88888 hard."

Even English darts pro Stephen Bunting had something to add. "Watched you guys when you was in Manchester as Robbie Williams support group and I must say wow. You guys were amazing and I instantly became a fan of the Lottery Winners. Me and my son listen to your albums all the time. Keep up the amazing work mate."

Speaking to the M.E.N. this morning, Thom added: "It's just really nice to have my mate's back, I kind of feel like my big brother is the cop of the school and he's sticking up for me. But Rob is just truly one of my closest friends and I'll always have his back too, and there's times when I read comments about him and I have stop myself from furiously typing into my keyboard and just saying 'you don't know him and if you did you wouldn't say that'.

"I just think this whole culture of people just slating each other online is tiresome and I just really hate it to be honest - lets all just try to be kind."

As ticket prices dominate headlines and fans question whether live music is becoming a luxury, a Sheffield-founded platform backed by Robbie Williams is expanding access to thousands more events across the UK.

Tickets for Good has confirmed a new UK wide integration with global ticketing company AXS, allowing more NHS staff, teachers, charity workers, volunteers and people receiving Cost of Living support to access free and heavily discounted tickets to live events.

The partnership means AXS venues and promoters across the UK can directly allocate ticket inventory to Tickets for Good’s verified community of more than 600,000 members.

The expansion comes at a time when affordability, resale practices and access to culture have become a national talking point. While policy discussions continue, the Sheffield founded company is focused on something immediate, getting real tickets into the hands of people who might otherwise miss out.

AXS is a global ticketing partner for premier venues, sports teams, and event organisers around the world.

Founded in 2019, Tickets for Good was built on a simple mission: “to ensure all events are available, to everyone” .

Steve Rimmer, Founder and CEO of Tickets for Good, said:

“There is a lot of conversation right now about who live events are for. We believe they are for everyone.

“This partnership makes it easier for promoters to share seats that might otherwise go unused with people who give so much back to their communities. That benefits audiences, artists and the industry as a whole.”

The platform has already distributed more than one million tickets globally, working with artists including Dua Lipa, Idles and Yungblud, alongside ambassador Robbie Williams, who has previously said access to the arts is “a cause close to my heart”.

For members, the impact is personal.

One NHS worker said:

“Before Tickets for Good it felt like all work and no play. Now I’m positively buzzing from all the wonderful shows and different experiences my family and I have been able to enjoy. Thank you immensely.”

Another member added:

“Being able to spend quality time with family and make memories that otherwise we would not have been able to afford is priceless.”

The new AXS integration gives promoters full control over pricing, volumes and timing, while seamlessly offering tickets through a secure closed network of verified members.

Peter Quinlan, Managing Director Europe at AXS, said the partnership demonstrates how technology can support both commercial outcomes and social impact.

What began in Sheffield has now expanded across the UK, US and mainland Europe. As demand for affordable access to culture continues to rise, Tickets for Good says its goal remains unchanged, widening the circle rather than raising the barrier.

EVERYONE IS A DJ
Everyone you meet today will probably be a DJ.
Everyone you pass in the street.
Do not bother asking a person what they do…
The question is redundant.
Ask them for a headshot instead.
They’ll have one.
Black and white.
Moody.
Slightly bored.
Because they are DJs.
One of my cats is a DJ now.
The quiet lad from school who once ate a rubber?
DJ.
I was walking down Kensington High Street
and saw a DJ mug another DJ
while he was DJ’ing.
No one intervened
because they too
were DJ’ing.
Your GP?
Drum and bass.
Your priest?
Balearic. Very tasteful.
Your mum is emotionally a DJ.
No one is in the audience anymore.
These days no one wants to be an astronaut anymore.
Except maybe
a DJ astronaut.
There’s a remake of The Karate Kid happening.
It’s called The DJ Kid.
Same script.
But DJ’ing.
Wax on.
Wax off.
I only leave the house these days
to pretend to buy vinyl.
I am sexless.
I am a genre now.
I just heard something
you haven’t.
And that makes me happy.
Pious, even.
Because I am a DJ.
I heard it
and I knew what it was

because I’ve heard it before.
I probably heard it
before I even heard it.
If you know what I mean.
You will.
Because you are a DJ too.
Next weekend
the whole of Wiltshire
is headlining a festival
in the shadow
of something ancient
and monetised.
Spotify has a category:
People you used to know but are DJs now.
And LinkedIn has introduced a new job title:
Founder/DJ

I just read this poem to my 13-year-old daughter. She said
“I like it daddy, because what you’re saying is everyone makes music and no one’s listening.”
I said “No darling, what I mean is: Everyone’s a f***ing DJ now.”

Question:
What genre are you?
Not what genre you like.
What genre describes you.
Mine would be:
Existential Dadcore
or
Self-Aware Narcissistic Jazz

Tag the DJ in your life.

Namaste FFS.
