I wonder if Melanie is going to release anything in October of this year to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Northern Star and her solo career. If Melanie was ever going to release some sort of greatest hits, now would be the time.

An interesting idea might be for Melanie to pick which 25 songs she thinks are her absolute best in her entire discography regardless if they were a single or album track. Tack on three new songs and now you have a fantastic 28 track compilation album.

I was at this too! It was such a lovely surprise to see Mel - loved when she inserted part of Stop into the second song too. Never thought I’d get to see Mel do When You’re Gone live! Such a great r

Just on my way home from seeing KT Tunstall at Royal Albert Hall tonight. Mel came on as a surprise guest and did "When You're Gone" and "I've Had The Time Of My Life" (off Dirty Dancing) with her! Na

I missed Rick and Roger as I had to dash to get my tube back to Liverpool Street for my connecting train home! But yeah, bloody amazing gig. She does indeed have an extensive contacts book 🤣 Here's m

Im down for Melanie C 25!

Also down for NS tour where she plays the entire album!

I doubt she will release a GH ever at this point. The only way I can see it is if she has some big hits all of a sudden, but that’s not going to happen.

The best time for a GH would have been tied in with her autobiography release. Who I Am: The Singles Collection. She could have promoted it alongside the book in all those interviews she had. The fact she didn’t bother then tells me she won’t ever bother.

I agree with this, actually. It would have been a perfect time.

The only thing I can see happening is either a live album (like the The Hits release) or a Northern Star or Reason special editions for their 25th anniversary later this year with a few unreleased tracks. I saw the video of Home at her Koko gig and would love to see that version being available.

But honestly, the speech she gave before that song seems to point towards her still not being on good terms with her old record label, and I dont think it pays well at all for any future licensing deal of her Northern Star or Reason tracks for a Greatest Hits.

A GH is probably more expensive than normal as she would I assume have to liecence the NS/Reason songs to include.

A rerecording of them might be an option though to include.
