So the much talked about Tension re-issue came out in America and someone on SH made an unboxing of it - they’ve essentially made the Deluxe version which was a Target exclusive available everywhere now.

So much for all the extra content that was supposedly being part of the package from ‘insiders’

The person that made the video also made this comment “After I made this video I noticed there’s also sticker residue in the shape of the original Target Exclusive sticker. Looks like BMG is just recycling leftover stock and sending it to other retailers now.”

There has still not been any official confirmation about the reissue tracklist and all the links for the 23rd August release were only showing the tracklist for the deluxe edition. If we are getting a reissue, I would expect some kind of announcement in the next 4-5 weeks which will tie in with a Q4 release. However, it really feels like all the momentum has completely gone from this era now and as much as I would love a handful of new tracks, I’m not sure it will generate much interest apart from the core fan base.

Well thats what i thought we may have an announcement coming about the reissue combined..... but alas. Nothing still. i guess the album will be an Xmas stocking filler now.

I’m still not convinced about the Tension re-issue - it feels like the era is SO over now, none of the new collabs have sparked interest and there seems general fatigue around the amount of formats Tension got.

I guess if they pull something out of the bag and add some worthwhile additions then it’ll create some interest but chucking on MOM, MR etc., won’t pull in any decent numbers.

Well it seems something is happening end of September....

Netflix announcment

Album announcement

Tour announcement

Lets see when she is on radio 2 will give us an idea etc as she will be on the promo trail before going off to Singapore and then maybe back to Australia for tour rehersals....

Think you are missing the point! The collabs have kept her steaming numbers the highest they have been aside from Xmas. They have added 50m streams between them. Kylie was as high as 504 on Spotify top 500 2 days ago. These tracks continue to stream and added to an album will give tension era longevity.

I’ve not missed any point? I’m talking about yet another version of Tension rather than the collabs which have given her inflated streaming numbers (none of them big enough to keep an album afloat).

Agreed...

Taking into account all the remixes, she's achieved 55,413,497 worldwide Spotify streams with these 4 songs, over a period of 7 months. That's not really that major in the grand scheme of things, and that's before we take into account that only a certain percentage of that is UK streams.

Honestly, how these singles have done on streaming here would barely move the needle for Tension's weekly streaming units. Kylie would need another genuinely big Padam sized hit to achieve that.

As it stands, if a reissue happens, once again it would be most reliant on fans buying formats and it ultimately being a bit of a one week wonder. And for that reason, I'm not feeling enthused about it.

I suppose if the track listing is genuinely decent and worth the money, then I'll be swayed into appreciating it existing. However, if fans have it in mind that these collaborations being included would give a major boost to its weekly sales, I'm afraid there's going to be some disappointment...

The collabs would be on the release so their decent streaming numbers versus the current low streaming numbers of the current tension album tracks would help tension overall! Features and collabs are the way to maintain decent streaming numbers!

I agree, the collabs if they had been big hits may have made a difference if included but they havnt exactly set the charts on fire so they wont make much difference if added to a new version of Tension. As much i have loved Tension i cant help but feel the time has passed now and the era is done and a new issue wont be anything more than a one week wonder bought buy fans such as ourselves unless she is adding some new songs with 1-2 of them as singles that do well to add smoke fuel to album sales. Maybe its best Kylie works on the new rumoured album and maybe takes a rest so that she is fully free to promote the life out of the new album that will ideally give her another hit.

If as rumoured the Your kicks off in Australia in February then a new album for then would be the right choice?

So a Tension re-release to grab some Xmas coin still?

Ps. The Dance Alone Offenbach remix is still getting more daily streams than most Tension album tracks lol.

Those 4 collabs are 280k of streams a day. That's approx 9,000,000 a month and that's just on Spotify. You are all too negative on her collabs.

Well they said back in April that it was happening...... album 17 was being worked on and the Tension re-release and a world tour in 2025

To be completely blunt about it, this is not impressive!

Even if it was just one song doing that for Kylie, that would be less than a quarter of the daily streams required to make it to #200 in the daily Global Spotify Top 200. So the fact this is across four songs and all of the mixes... her numbers are quite paltry for these songs.

56 year old Kylie getting 280k streams for 4 songs in rubbish?

God help all musicians trying to get their songs listened too on that platform.
