It's approaching nine years since One Direction were last active as a group, and with solo careers still in full force and Harry one of the most popular artists in the world, do we ever see a time where One Direction will reunite?

For me, it's always felt like an inevitability, albeit Harry's solo success has pushed that vision back quite considerably. I'm not sure what terms they're all on with each other these days either, I'm not sure Liam's really covered himself in glory in recent years. It still feels quite a long way off, whereas back in 2015 I don't think I expected it to be so far away. Either way, I'm fairly sure any reunion would be a comeback tour and nothing else really, maybe a Greatest Hits album if they see value in one.

I can see it happening for a tour when they're in their late 40s perhaps, but not any time soon. Especially with Harry's stratospheric success and Zayn still seemingly disowning anything to do with 1D.
One day maybe but definitely not any time soon, I could actually see a Take That style reunion with a few of them minus Harry perhaps. Although Harry has never expressed positive feelings towards the group so maybe he would still join, he seems so much bigger on his own though 🤷‍♂️
At this point I can't really see it happening for anything more than a one-off new single, a documentary, a sit-down interview or something along those lines, and I can't see them setting out to perform a whole tour of the group's songs which really don't align with what any of them have carved for themselves as soloists.

If someone had told me at the end of 2015 "in 9 years time there'll still be no sign of a One Direction reunion happening any time soon" I would not have believed that!

One Direction's time spent apart is coming very close to the length of time of Take That's split to reunion (April 1996 being their last month of activity from their 90s heyday, and reunited in November 2005). That was 115 months; One Direction are 106 months on from the beginning of their "hiatus". Looks like One Direction are going to outdo that!

I do think they'll reunite someday. Even the most unlikely of reunions do tend to end up happening, however many years it takes. Their moment will come, I'm sure. When though... hmm. I think we'll get at least one more album era/tour out of Harry before it, so I'm not going to hold my breath for it happening within the next 5 years. Maybe a 20th anniversary thing in 2030? :drama: At which point they'll all be late 30s.

I do think someday they will reunite but not any time soon, when they do it will probably be for a Greatest Hits release, tour and maybe 1 new single and that will be it.
Some newspapers in Argentina are reporting Liam has died after falling from the 3rd floor of his hotel in Buenos Aires
