YVA - I Dangu

 

Possibly it's the best album, if you wish to start the adventure in a beautiful world of Lithuanian pop music. Each fan of pure pop must listen it.

 

 

“I Dangu” is the most known YVA song for Europeans, because it was their second unsuccessful attempt in the national pre-selection for Eurovision Song Contest.

It’s not confirmed by any sources, but iconic NF performance looks like a copycat of “Flying The Flag (For You) from Eurovision - 2007.

Song lyrics of "Paparazzi" is the answer of YVA singer Natalija Bunke for tabloids and other critics of her music and lifestyle. Obviously it's the one from the most interesting YVA tracks, so I tried to translate it on English.

Velnias Manyje Gyvena

 

 

Based on lyrics "Velnias Manyje Gyvena" (The Devil Lives In Me) sounds like "Paparacai"'s sequel. Besides the relations between celebrities and mass media in this song YVA beauties also talk about a dark side of the female nature.

 

Lungs was a great album indeed, my #1 track will always be Cosmic Love

 

one album I can think of from 2009 without looking it up is Paolo Nutini-Sunny Side Up

which I recently re-bought as yellow vinyl :) Candy is the best song there and in his top 3 songs ever

but the album is very good overall and he kinda discovered a new type of song for him with tracks like Pencil Full of Lead or 10/10

 

The XX debut album, that's another classic for sure

with songs like VCR or Crystalyzed or Shelter or Islands or Intro aka the best instrumental song ever. The XX debut is one of the best debut albums ever.

A few I'd definitely say:

 

VV Brown - Travelling Like The Light

Has her big hit 'Shark In The Water' on it, but this album has so many highlights and I always wish it'd been bigger. She's local to me now and was so lovely when I met her in person

 

Noah & The Whale - The First Days of Spring

Just the vibe of this album is good

 

Passenger - Wide Eyes Blind Love

One of his pre 'Let Her Go' albums. The quality of his music has always been good and this is no exception. Also acts as an introduction to his music.

 

Natalie Imbruglia - Come To Life

It always amazes me that this was not given a proper release in the UK (considering her album before got to #1). Some crackers on here. As a melancholy music lover I always find myself drifting to a song called 'Fun'
