January 2Jan 2 They say "The Devil Is In The Detail " & this guy is obsessed with the detail  @1874776805565239531 MILLENNIUM: Who Really Paid for Robbie’s Free Concert ! ADVERTISING SPACE Today’s @robbiewilliams concert at Melbourne’s Federation Square was billed as a 'free concert,' and by all accounts, the crowd had an incredible time with Williams and his band delivering a stellar performance. But let’s ask the obvious question: 'a free concert' for who? LET ME ENTERTAIN YOU Having worked in the music industry most of my life, I can tell you that staging a concert like this costs an eye-watering amount. Between the band, crew, PA and equipment hire, accommodation, advertising, flights, insurances, and management fees, the costs easily run into the hundreds of thousands––if not more. AIN’T THAT A KICK IN THE HEAD! Sure, this concert was 'free' for those lucky enough to attend. But it wasn’t 'free' for a cash-strapped Victoria. Where does the money come from? One place––Victorian taxpayers. That’s you, mate. NEVER FORGET Let’s rewind to 2020 when former CHO Brett Sutton relied on Dan Andrews’ COVID-19 rules to cancel Robbie Williams' scheduled concert at the Melbourne Grand Prix. That cancellation cost Victorians a staggering $2.84 million in compensation after the promoters sued the Grand Prix organisers. DECEIVING IS BELIEVING I love Victoria, and I love Melbourne. But knowing how money works in this state feels less like a blessing and more like a curse. Victoria is broke and broken. While I want to stay positive in the new year, let’s not be fooled by politicians bearing 'free concerts' when we’re the ones paying the bill. ROCK DJ Did you notice that each chapter heading is a Robbie Williams song? Clever, aye? SENSATIONAL Let me add one more: “Sensational.” That’s exactly how millions of Victorians will feel in November 2026 when @BradBattinMP is elected Premier. Edited January 2Jan 2 by Sydney11
