Posted October 17, 2024Oct 17 It's been a pretty difficult night of news, so let's turn our attention to remembering Liam and the legacy of pop hits he's left behind as part of One Direction, focusing on the good times and supporting each other in this strange time. Join us at 7pm tonight (17th October) to listen to the above playlist, covering all of 1D's singles. I did consider throwing a couple of Liam's solo songs in too but it felt right to end the listening session on History, perhaps we can do another Liam solo listening session at a different point. October 17, 2024Oct 17 Unfortunately I won't be able to make it but thanks for linking the playlist as I think I'll put it on in the background for my final hour working from home today. My favourite 1D song has historically been 'You & I' but I think 'Night Changes' is challenging it these days. I do have quite a nostalgic soft spot for the FOUR era in general as the album came out while I worked at HMV; it was played in store a lot there in late 2014. So the music from that album instantly transports me back to that time in my life!
October 17, 2024Oct 17 Aww I'll be out tonight, but my favourite 1D singles are What Makes You Beautiful, One Thing, Little Things, Night Changes and Perfect. They were very consistently strong across all eras.

October 17, 2024Oct 17 Don't think I'll be able to participate either, so sorry. "Best Song Ever" was the song that made me listen to 1D singles back on those days. I discovered it through the This Is Us film. No access yet to watch the UK X Factor back then, unfortunately. "Night Changes" is a must-play jam when me and my friends want to hang around.

October 17, 2024Oct 17 What a great song to launch with! Very vibrant and catchy and I can imagine the lyrics really appealing to their young fanbase at the time. Love the little Grease-'Summer Nights' nod in the opening notes of the song.
