The best winner in years, maybe one of my faves ever. I'm so happy I can't believe it omg.
I know it's not quite comparable to the U.S. election but I'm relieved that misogyny hasn't been emboldened to the highest degree again so soon after that blow.

Ali has been the main character and really quite important to me as a female neurodivergent role model as that representation is so rare in the media, thrilled

Absolutely! With how the world is going, how public voted reality TV always goes, for a neurodivergent lesbian to triumph over… that… is amazing and really uplifting.

WOW Ali won with 51.9% of all of the votes!!

Jordan's 37.8% last year between 5 seemed huge but this is another level and between 6 people :o

AJ just couldn’t last that interview without showing her hatred for Ali could she?
The producers on Late and Live seem determined to ensure this lot hate each other before the wrap party.

It really is

I actually watched the first ever series of BBUK after 2023's series ended (withdrawals x) and Anna Nolan ended up being my favourite, finally a lesbian winner all these years later after her narrow miss

Awk pity Hanah didn’t win but Ali was undoubtedly a major character in the series and was a deserving winner.

lol at comparing BB to the US election only on BJ

What did I say wrong now?

It’s just a passing comment about the state of society and why Ali’s win means something to us. You’re also watching this show so don’t act like you’re on some superior intellectual high ground

Well I did add in "it's not quite the same" as I knew I'd get this kind of reaction but, to give the thread a female perspective, misogyny being shoved in my face so much (as a multi-faceted human who follows both politics and more light-hearted stuff like Big Brother) during the past couple of weeks, as something that is just accepted as part of a parcel that gets you far on the world stage or on a reality show, has been incredibly grating ^_^

Anyway, that's all I'll say on the matter as I want to close this series on a high! I think last year's show had more likeable characters but this year was more consistently entertaining. Hopefully next year we can have more of a blend of both. I enjoyed the tasks more this year but the manipulation went too far and the pacing of the back-door evictions felt really off.

This thread has been a bit heated at times but overall I've really enjoyed the communal feel of watching with you guys after not being a part of it last year.

Who’s acting superior? I love big brother as it’s reflection of society and how diverse people get on together in that environment.

An election is slightly different though as it’s about more than just a person it’s about ability to make decisions and run an economy. So many will think trumps victory reflects how awful the world is when in reality for most people who vote base it on who will protect their family best, create jobs so they can provide for their children and pay their mortgages not individualistic social ideals.

I don't think we can directly link on here but if you Google 'Internet Archive Big Brother' it's the third result down that mentions 'directory listing'

They definitely need less intervention next time! Back to basics would be great. This cast was so good and naturally brought a lot of discord, conflict and drama, so it didn’t need it!

Like I said I did dip in and out, Ali’s Palestine shirt being edited out, and truthfully this thread at times, soured it for me and I was at a point I didn’t even want to give ITV the views, but the vault twist thing for the final week was absolutely ridiculous and I didn’t like that every round of nominations was played with due to the HOH thing and save and replace. I think if they’re going to do that they need to go the full hog with it, maybe have the HOH nominate and the public vote or even fully a US format but maybe that’s just for a mini spin off series or something. I just don’t like them meddling with bits and pieces but not committing to the game side of it.

Anyway I agree with Jade it’s been a great series and I have thoroughly enjoyed the communal watching in this thread, roll on March!!
