Episode titles have been revealed, although Episode 2 is only the partial title:

Episode 2: “The Vanishing of ____”

Episode 3: “The Turnbow Trap”

Episode 4: “Sorcerer”

Episode 5: “Shock Jock”

Episode 6: “Escape From Camazotz”

Episode 7: “The Bridge”

Episode 8: “The Rightside Up”

 

Production began in January 2024 (significantly delayed because of the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes). As of October they were almost finished with shooting it. My guess is that it wont be released until Autumn 2025 because of how long post production could take and then the time required to promote it.

 

Season 1’s story began in November 1983, and Season 5 is set in Autumn 1987 - so only 4 years have gone by. In reality the actors are 8 years older (Season 1 was filmed from September 2015 to early 2016).

 

Maya Hawke has said that the episodes will be very long - “basically eight movies”. Although I enjoyed Season 4 very much, it was quite demanding with the episodes lengths - so I’m not super thrilled by this. Kind of wish they’d do more episodes with shorter running times.

 

Regardless, I’m excited to see how this concludes!

Probably right about this! With season 2 of Wednesday being released in August looks like this'll be getting Netflix's big Halloween release slot.

I'm excited for the season now after binging seasons 1-4 a few months ago (and re-watching after forgetting everything that happened in the case of season 1 x). Hoping it delivers a satisfying ending

Will certainly take us as long as the breaks are between releases to get through the episodes

also I'm glad there seems to be a lot of focus on Will going by that teaser, it's what we need

Always thought he was the main character despite his absence from some of the series.

The Boxing Day launch for Part II looks to be a future tentpole for Netflix then. Doesn't really bother me too much that theyre splitting it apart, if the eps are gonna be 80-90 minutes long as it is, then that's a lot of watching to be doing. I'd imagine the finale will be 100+ mins.

Is anyone doing a rewatch? So far I've rewatched all of Season 1 (and it is just as spectacular as I remember it being) and Season 2 Episode 1.

Have been watching a rerun of the Alien franchise since watching Alien Earth but gonna start this tonight!

Finished my rewatch tonight Absolutely one of my favourite TV shows of all time, and I'm so very ready for Season 5! 1 week to go

It weird watching it again, feels like a kids show to start but quickly is much more adult orientated!

We watched the first episode this evening. It's probably actually still as good as it ever was but I found my attention drifting during it, I feel like I may have just lost a bit of interest in the whole story - but we'll see, hopefully I'll get more into again as it progresses

Yes the gap between seasons is felt in parts as I have forgotten the story in places, like why Eddie was so hated, though it still feels a little extreme the way his classmates are acting, especially towards Dustin but perhaps that's explored more and likely down to fear of how they're all living right now. Thank you Netflix for the comprehensive S4 recap at the start though! Overall after one episode I am definitely sucked back in and very much looking forward to how it plays out.

As it's the end, it's one I don't want to binge at all so I can fully appreciate what happens.

OMFG THAT EPISODE 4 ENDING cannot believe they're making us wait 4 weeks for the next episode, arghhhh!!!

Finally finished this new batch of episodes tonight (I didn't want to binge through all 4 too quickly) but Episode 4... wow, what an episode! One of the very best of the entire show I'd say, incredibly cinematic. Goosebumps!

Roll on Boxing Day

Seen the first episode, very exposition heavy and fast talking, but enjoyable. I think the show is long past that mysterious and enigmatic feel of the first season that really made me love it and is now very much an us vs them horror-sci fi, a bit like the contrast between the first two Alien films, but it's still capable of some fantastic moments, just in a different way to the first few seasons, and hope it can go out with cinematic, huge climax fitting of it's status.

I'm intrigued about how Dustin is handled in this first half, it was interesting and sad seeing such a deflated version of him following Eddie's death (Let me avoid this thread now as I see some of you are already finished x)

I know this is primarily a music forum but still I thought there'd be a lot more conversation about the biggest and most hotly anticipated show of the year!
