January 24Jan 24 I think this thread should be renamed to "Bizarre Collaborations" or something. "Ridiculous" has too much of a negative aspect to it imo! Maybe not quite the weirdest but Mary J. Blige teaming up with U2 was also a bit unexpected but quite nice: ZpDQJnI4OhUI LOOOOOOVE this version of this song. It's stunning  This from 2012: 1sa9qeV6T0oI love this so much but yeah, I agree it's such a random collab! Especially at the time when I don't think Taylor was collabing all that often with anyone! Other random collaborations to me: Taylor Swift feat. Kendrick Lamar - Bad Blood QcIy9NiNbmo On the topic of Taylor... her enlisting the help of Kendrick for a remix of 'Bad Blood' was really out of the blue! But this version works! -- Ben Haenow feat. Kelly Clarkson - Second Hand Heart zAnSr5N3c8E Ben managing to enlist THE KELLY CLARKSON for his debut post X Factor win single was a really random surprise! But what a bop! Kelly was pregnant at the time he went on to promote this so unfortunately we are yet to get a performance of this with both of them </3 -- Kylie Minogue feat. Gente De Zona - Stop Me From Falling pMv5vuSHMsU ICONIC! WHAT A BANGER!
January 30Jan 30 Speaking of the Ben Haenow collab just reminded me of an even weirder one with another X Factor winner Matt Terry collabing with Enrique Iglesias and Sean Paul. Like how did that even come about and who signed that off?
January 30Jan 30 Speaking of the Ben Haenow collab just reminded me of an even weirder one with another X Factor winner Matt Terry collabing with Enrique Iglesias and Sean Paul. Like how did that even come about and who signed that off? The Matt Terry version was a remix of an Enrique song that was already out. It didn't really make a lot of sense as a collaboration but it was just Simon trying to cash in on the reggaetón mini-trend going on at the time.
January 30Jan 30 I did think that it already been a hit elsewhere and this was a remix (like the Bieber Despacito situation) but couldn't remember for certain. Either way a very odd decision for a first 'proper,' single. Guessing he never actually met either of them a la Olly Murs/Flo Rida lol.
February 11Feb 11 Whoever signed off Lady Gaga getting R Kelly to feature on Do What U Want out of ALL her songs needs to be investigated lol. Even 2013 felt too late for that to be acceptable. No wonder the video got scrapped.
February 11Feb 11 Then Justin Bieber did a collab even the year after^ Another one that came to mind recently was Chipmunk/Chris Brown - Champion, like how on earth did Chip get Breezy on that when he was a relative nobody outside the UK?
