It doesn't have the playlisting a single would... it's plays are largely off of hype and fanbase support. It's drop is expected for a promo single, I'd say?

It's at #15 in First Look anyway! Hope it's enough to stay top 40 but I doubt it! I think top 100 is safe though!

If it fell the same amount of places that Fantasy did from Sunday to Friday it would end up at 42. So I think top 50 is hopefully safe. But fingers crossed it doesn’t fall as fast and stays top 40!

Saturdays are the worst drops for streams so i guess yesterday it could've done around 200k (hopefully) and if it rises to 300k this week and keeps being stable we could secure atleast top 50 debut i guess which would be impressive for a non single and she would have charted her whole discography on top 200 aswell :rolleyes:

I am not surprised by the almost 50% second day drop. I just don't think this was ever going to catch on with the GP the way 'Angel' did. Sure, 'Angel' was experimental but it also had a massive chorus. This is basically chorus-less and the production is jarring.

 

I think it debuted high due to the lack of new music in January, the fact that the fans have been teased snippets since 'Angels' release, and the better promotion via. social media in comparison to 'Fantasy'. Maybe I will be proved wrong, and still hope it can make the top 40 this week (although I think slightly more likely to just miss out)... but I think we need to accept this song is much more divisive and doesn't have big cross over appeal.

Well i think the biggest difference is that aomd was a single and got ''better'' treatment based on that but yeah i just hope it remains stable at 200k -300k streams daily i need that album

 

(And for me personally while i love aomd with my heart i kinda prefer it girl now its similarish but more ass bop worthy maybe bc its still fresh lol)

Ditto! It’s a real testament to the song that we basically heard all of it before release yet it still doesn’t underwhelm. :wub: the YouTube reaction videos are everything!

I'm also kinda binge watching the reactions like i did with aomd its so nice to see how ppl get the same excitement like i do hope this gets listed on hhuk tho ��

People can call it whatever they want, but the next song isn't likely to do as well. This had proper hype!

 

She should just announce the album, go to the Brits and get on with it. I don't get what they are waiting for. It will not sell any extra units if they wait for a month and another month and another...

They're still running to the original plan with FUFN being out as single 3 and the album following.

 

The plan hasn't changed, They are hoping releasing these promo songs / singles will help establish her and hopefully give her consistent streaming numbers (Even if minimal) If she released the album after say 2 singles, yes her album might initially chart well but it's very hard to create hype when the full thing is out.

 

The plans working because they made IT girl into the small E.P with the other tracks and look at the boosts it gave all her previous songs (I can't remember the exact figures but around 75-300% boosts in streaming numbers)

 

I know JADE's got the advantage coming from LM but they do need to establish her sound, what does well streaming wise and build a body of work initially to launch the album off of (If it goes well and there's a second album I'm sure the process will be alot different)

 

Chart success is amazing but I'm sure JADE and RCA are well aware this is VERY hard especially in this climate where older songs stick around for an eternity and the charts are based on TTH largely USA based or whether a song goes viral on Tiktok / Social Media.

 

Let's face it even HHUK doesn't have the same impact as it used to.
