Like last year, 40 artists have been selected to choose from based upon their recent success and likelihood of returning with a new era in the near future.

Here are my predictions:

• Following the success of Mamushi and an unanticipated remix of a Dua Lipa song, more J-Hip Hop artists like Creepy Nuts/R-Shitei and Yuki Chiba will be getting more collabs with an established artist next year.
• In the K-Pop zone, 5th generation group BABYMONSTER will finally pocket their first ever Top 40.
• Brazilian phonk & pluggnb music will become more popular than they already are in the UK.
• P!nk will return and remain relevant
• Ed Sheeran will make a country/folk song (in a good way)

I think the following will have big eras next year: Addison Rae, Chappell Roan, Harry Styles, JADE (at least critical success), Sam Fender and also a sneaky suspicion Tom Grennan may surprise us.

Hoping the following will release: Benson, Dua, Jade, Miley

Hoping the following DO NOT release: quite a few on that list :lol:

 

 

2025 predictions:

• Lorde will release new music and it will be big
• Justin Bieber will surprise drop an album
• Dua will release the lead single from DL4 in August but the album won't come until 2026
• Rihanna will finally release R9
• Chappell will get her first UK #1
• Charli xcx will feature on a big dance hit
• McFly will release an album and it will go to #1

Gaga will have the next flop

Realisticly I could see many of these names releasing "something" next year, but as to what I cannot be sure.

Who I think will be big in 2025:

 

Addison Rae (her star is growing)

 

Ariana Grande (sure she’ll put something out next year after the Wicked success)

 

Chappell Roan (The Giver sounds massive, I’m sure her second album will be huge)

 

Ed Sheeran (depends if it’s a pop era, and how much goodwill is left for his pop after those two underperforming acoustic albums - I don’t see him pulling off country that successfully, I would go back to pop and he should get some hits, and I think he will too because he knows this is what sells for him and this next album is really crucial)

 

George Ezra (he’s due back around next year)

 

Gracie Abrams (sure she’ll push out some more big new singles)

 

Lady Gaga (album will be big at least, unsure on singles)

 

Myles Smith (he seems to be setting up for a big album when it comes)

 

Noah Kahan (likewise, his next lead single will be a success)

 

Olivia Rodrigo (can see a big album and lead from her in 2025)

 

Sam Fender (this is due in Feb and will be a big album, should spin off more hit singles)

 

Tate McRae (ditto)

 

Taylor Swift (inevitable isn’t it, also where are the Reputation and Taylor Swift re-releases?)

 

Also predicting 2025 success for Dave, Sza, The Weeknd, Lola Young, and hopefully the Eurovision winner and/or UK entry after the relative underperformance of this year's songs.

 

I only voted Drake in the last poll, not sure I've even remotely liked one of his singles since about 2018.

If Taylor Swift is coming out AGAIN, she'll have the biggest, by far, then Beyoncé. Those are the two bughest names in music, then maybe Cheesy Fad.

No way Drake is ever having success again unless he goes to court and is found not guilty. And even then the other stuff Kendrick said about him may be enough to put everyone off him for good

Big years for The 1975, Sam Fender & Olivia Rodrigo I suspect, from people "in the know" they're the Glastonbury headliners next year. I think Sam is the only one that is less certain though.

really curious about Noah Kahan, very uncertain about how he does, people have so little memory...

I'm not believing the notion of Drake never having success again until I see it, it sounds way too good to be true.

 

Also I think Lola Young could go properly stratospheric next year after 'Messy' smashes.

I think Raye and Noah Kahan will have a big album but idk for some reason I can't see big singles success for either of them

Lewis Capaldi I highly doubt will be returning any time soon with his personal struggles.

Everyone seems quite sure we won't be getting new Adele music in 2025 then.
