Posted December 21, 2024Dec 21 Which songs have reached #1 in the Big Top 40 charts but not the OCC charts?
December 21, 2024Dec 21 Have you looked at their website ? https://www.bigtop40.com/charts/ Edited December 21, 2024Dec 21 by mrpopquiz
December 21, 2024Dec 21 Loads probably! It would be interesting to see what songs topped their chart, but didn’t make the official Top 10/40.
December 21, 2024Dec 21 Just had a look at their website and the last song that was #1 there that was an official #1 was BACKBONE in August
December 21, 2024Dec 21 Looking at this year, only Stick Season, Texas Hold Em, Houdini, Too Sweet and Backbone have topped both if I’ve totted up correctly, not necessarily the same weeks, all have made the top 40, and feelslikeimfallinginlove, Abracadabra and the Granny Harmers oddity are the only ones to miss the top 10. Still strange seeing the discrepancies though, and anybody who thinks of the Big Top 40 as official I do question Edited December 21, 2024Dec 21 by Boymetworld91

December 22, 2024Dec 22 The chart is just Global Radio airplay/iTunes and a tiny bit of Apple Music streaming. Pretty sure the airplay part of it is completely farcical
December 22, 2024Dec 22 It would be possible to compile them but the Big Top 40 website drops off in quality around 2015 with lots of incomplete charts so it's nigh on impossible unless someone has tracked the charts from when they aired. I can't see there being more than a handful being included that wasn't the actual #1 each year. I remember Loreen's Euphoria being a #1 just after Eurovision in 2012 *.*
December 23, 2024Dec 23 I wonder if Freezing This Christmas got played on big top 40 or if it was snubbed like it was on r1
December 23, 2024Dec 23 It was only played for about 25 seconds yesterday when it was at #5 so can't imagine it was played for any longer than that last week either
December 24, 2024Dec 24 Author Walk Me Home by Pink (good track) and You Need To Calm Down by Taylor Swift (hate that song) was Big Top 40 number ones in 2019
December 24, 2024Dec 24 I wonder if Freezing This Christmas got played on big top 40 or if it was snubbed like it was on r1 They played about 10 seconds of it and didn't say the name of the artist, just that "it's a charity song raising money for old people"
