Super impressive mental strength indeed from Anisimova to get straight back to a grand slam final immediately after such a loss. I'm really rooting for her!

Alcaraz got an Easy win over Djokovik, much easier than expected

Djokovic is still very comfortably the 3rd best player in the world which is incredibly impressive at his age but he's an absolute country mile and a half behind the top 2 right now.

not the bestest women's final dominated by errors and errors and more errors

Anisimova was playing incredible some games and then giving up her serve to 0

and when Sabalenka was serving to serve, 30-30, and she had the easiest smash on the net and somehow missed...

Yes, it wasn't the best final. I was hoping it would go to a third set as Anisimova was playing better towards the end but Sabalenka is always so good in tie-breaks.

It was also a shame the two Brits couldn't win the men's doubles final after having three consecutive match points with their opponents 0-40 down serving to stay in the match.

Fans fuming as thousands missed start due to increased security by Secret Service for Trump. They wanted an hour's delay but in end was 30 min.

Carlos was amazing. Another level. Truly took the mantle from Djokovic. Some people said after Wimbledon Sinner is a better all round player but Carlos proved he’s really the number 1

yes still impressed at Alcaraz

Sinner could only get points if he did an ace or a semidirect serve point, if the ball returned, it was Alcaraz most of th time

Without his serve, Sinner is nothing

just looking at the winners/errors

Alcaraz had 42 winners and 24 errors

Sinner had just 21 winners and 29 errors

Delighted that Alcaraz won, and now hopefully he has a lengthy stint as world #1 and overtakes the number of weeks that Sinner held the position.

Draper is sitting out the remainder of the season to recover from his arm injury. ☹️

Interesting that Sinner beat Alcaraz on his best surface and now Alcaraz has done the reverse. We need Sinner to be winning things now and then or else it'll turn into a boring Sport. But no denying this was Alcaraz's best tournament performative ever. Multiple slams on all 3 surfaces now. He just needs to sort out his bizarre terrible Australian Open form and we're looking at the guy who will reach 25 first injuries permitting.

Italy defended their Billie Jean King Cup title as Jasmine Paolini beat Jessica Pegula to wrap up a 2-0 victory over the United States.

The world number eight was in supreme form as she raced to a 6-4 6-2 victory in Shenzhen to secure Italy's sixth title.

Paolini is undefeated in singles and doubles at the BJK Cup this year and has lost just one of her previous 10 matches in the competition.

The 29-year-old was part of the Italian team that finished runners-up to Canada in 2023 before guiding them to their first title in 11 years against Slovakia last year.

Britain's Sonay Kartal claimed the biggest scalp of her career as she overcame world number five Mirra Andreeva to reach the China Open quarter-finals.

The British number four beat the Russian 7-5 2-6 7-5 in a thrilling contest which lasted two hours and 25 minutes.

The victory, Kartal's first against a player ranked in the top 10, means she has reached the last eight of a WTA 1000 event for the first time.

Valentin Vacherot from Monaco, ranked at 204, wins the Shanghai Masters! He's mainly been playing Challenger events this year. I know some of the top players are tired or injured this late in the season but that's still a huge shock.

Yeah, I wouldn't put much weight in this result for how he's going to perform going forward, given fatigue of those who've played so many matches/tournaments this year and the tough conditions out in Shanghai, but what a fairytale run, and what a story given it was two unseeded cousins battling it out in the final.

An emotional Katie Boulter retired from her first-round match at the Hong Kong Open with injury.

The Briton, 29, called for the trainer and was in tears after deciding she could not continue when trailing 20-year-old Filipino Alexandra Eala 6-4 2-1.

Boulter has won just eight of her past 21 main draw matches, failing to progress beyond the second round of a tournament since the Nottingham Open in June.
