Glad to see the back of him tbh.

I always liked him back in the 90s but sometime since he stopped racing he's lost all objectivity and become absorbed in his own self. Worse of all he developed an obvious bias and lack of impartiality which wasn't compatible with the job of steward.

In other news apparently Lewis Hamilton has been having a difficult time testing the 2023 Ferrari, the result of which was he managed to crash it the other day. He was unhurt but Ferrari are playing down the incident under the learning a new car angle. Whilst this is undoubtedly the case it does raise question about whether Lewis is going to find it easy to adapt to a new design discipline at the Scuderia.

Lastly, if anyone is thinking of swinging by the F1 exhibition in London I'd say it's worth checking out. I went today and whilst it is definitely aimed at newer fans, (there's little the long term or dedicated fan won't be aware of) there are some iconic cars on display. Sadly, nothing pre 1961 but you do get the Phil Hill's Sharknose Ferrari 156, Fittipaldi's Lotus 72, Alan Jones' Williams FW07, Senna's Mclaren MP4/4, Hakkinen's McLaren MP4/14, Verstappen's RB16B, Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes W09 and a stack of helmets and overalls to go with it. The grand finale is what remains of Romain Grosjean's Haas VF-20 from Bahrain 2020. It does fall in to the trap of saying F1 begins in 1950 and skips over a lot of important stuff but it's a decent primer for new fans and a good substitute for seeing the cars if you can't get down to Goodwood.

It wouldn't be changing the cars just for one track. Hungary, Jeddha, Barcelona, Singapore, Miami, Suzuka, Imola all have problems delivering overtaking. You would improve the racing across the board.

Next season of Drive To Survive coming 7th March :)

The McLaren MCL39 became the first of this year's cars to break cover as it ran in a testing livery at Silverstone today.

It's clearly a development of last year's car and retains the pull rod front suspension. Some changes around the engine cover intake a noticeable too.

Williams have now revelaed their FW47 in a gorgeous one off livery.

The airbox shape suggest a potential trend for 2025 as it's similar to the McLaren, conceptually

George Russell says he has "no intention" of speaking to Max Verstappen to clear the air following their row at the end of last season.

Their dispute blew up when Verstappen was penalised for impeding Russell at the Qatar Grand Prix - and the Dutchman said he had "lost all respect" for his rival.

But Briton Russell hit back, suggesting the Red Bull driver "cannot deal with adversity".

Russell said at the F1 75 event at London's O2 Arena on Tuesday that he and Verstappen "hadn't spoken" over the winter.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli says he had a week "like hell" in the build-up to his debut season in Formula 1 - but not because of the pressure of replacing Lewis Hamilton.

The 18-year-old rookie passed his driving test in January, six weeks before the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.

While there were no major scares for Antonelli, he did make "one little mistake" on his theory test. "But I had three allowed, so it was fine," the Italian told BBC Sport.

Antonelli is George Russell's new team-mate at Mercedes, after seven-time world champion Hamilton left to join Ferrari on a multi-year deal

Last night was the 'big' launch event and whilst I didn't watch it, I'm seeing a lot of negative reaction from long time fans. Most are saying it was a waste of time and there's a lot of distaste for the way Red Bull, Horner and Verstappen were treated by the crowd , especially in regards to the booing.

Secondly, the reveals I'm told were basically a waste of time with on a couple of minutes for each individual driver to be interviewed at each team launch, and the only thing we saw is the new stickers applied to each team's car. Many of which were last year's chassis.

That being said the RB looks quite nice but the Ferrari looks a total mess with an added hideous white stripe. As somebody joked, it's what you get when you have a spare 10L of white paint you absolutely have to use.

On a more serious note there's a lot of unpainted surface on the Mercedes in particular which does leave question marks around the car's weight

It was hit and miss. For the hardcore fans who hate the overall commercialisation of the sport in the past 10 years it would have been a nightmare but generally it was a perfectly serviceable event. All the drivers were there which the main thing (although LOL at Max & Liam not even bothering to talk and letting Horner take all the heat by himself). The car reveals were kinda pointless though as they were all last year's cars and not a single team significantly changed anything about their liveries.

As for the host, well you know what you're gonna get with him. At times it was total cringe but he there were a few good gags now and then in fairness, F1 fans are a tough crowd!

Aston Martin have revealed their latest challenger. They are expected to focus on next year's car however, and this year's - the last with a Merc engine - will most likely not change their status too much.

Really excited this year! What I'd do for Ferrari to pull it out the bag and for Hamilton to break the record for amount of championships. It tainted my love/obsession for the sport when he was robbed the other year. I suppose more than anything, it would be great to have a competitive season with multiple winners.

Looking good for McLaren at the moment. Leclerc may have topped the timesheets on FP2 but race pace looks to be with Lando - Average lap time based on 10 laps: Lec-1:22:184, Ham-1:22:228. Nor- 1:21:921. Russell did 1:21:932

McLaren are still not used to being the quickest car and make a lot of operational/strategical errors so that's what gonna keep this year interesting.

really wanna watch the Qually live but not sure if I'm up to waking up in the middle of the night for this

damn Aussie could have picked a more friendly time schedule

Why was I told that it would be 6am UK time on Sunday tearsmile.gif

Eh, guess I can still deal when I'll have just done five days of getting up not much later than 4am for work. Will have my Piastri hoodie at the ready.
