I'd expect all Christmas songs bar Wham to drop out this week (though I think Wham's Wake Me Up... will drop out), SZA, Sam Barber and maybe Alex Warren's Burning Down are nailed on entries, can't think of what else would enter

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in looking at this (or maybe it’s just me)? In the streaming era the EOY chart has appeared heavily biased towards songs released/peaking in the first ha

Just had a go at a full top 40, week 14 2024 to week 13 2025. You're pretty much bang on with your sales estimates, just had to change Hot To Go (it would've done a few sales in 2023 so its total woul

Oh and if you’ve ever wanted to know how much “Last Christmas” sells in the 2nd week of January the answer’s 3.5k!

Called Last Christmas staying in! Seems like a very swift exit for I Wanna Dance With Somebody, thought it streamed well outside of new years?

Slightly surprised too but it only does about 6k in normal times and at this stage 1 week of 6k can send you tumbling out.

Wow, Chasing Cars is a surprise. Did no see that one coming at all.

We do not need Dog Days are Over for a third year in a row, but You've Got the Love would be a fun addition in terms of oldies

If Dog Days Are Over makes it this year I think that would be it's 6th year-end chart? And Chasing Cars has probably been in like 10 by now lol. Although some of those would have been when we had top 200 year-end charts.

I was reading the year-end chart show thread for this year. It was a fun read, but honestly I think we should start adding year-end chart runs because there are so many repeats and re-entries these days. I know it's a lot of work though, but could be useful information to see how each song is trending, etc.

Would be the 4th for both actually!

In fairness - if you include top 200 year end’s it would be the 6th for Dog Days are Over.

On the 2024 YE it says “5 weeks on” which is a statistic calibrated to the top 200, so making the 2025 one would be its 6th top 200 appearance

I certainly remember “Chasing Cars” being in every published Top 200 from 2006 to 2009 as that was totally incredible and unprecedented. I guess it’s highly likely it was in the Top 200 last year at least if it can pop up at #99 over a random 2 week period.

Some belated stats regarding this week's entries.

Out of the 10 entries, 6 of them have made a year end list before:

Florence + the Machine - Dog Days are Over [2010: #93, 2023: #70, 2024: #99]

Sam Fender - Seventeen Going Under [2022: #10, 2023: #63]

Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way [2023: #91]

Florence + the Machine - You've Got the Love [2009: #95, 2010: #59]

Kendrick Lamar - Not Like Us [2024: #43]

Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars [2006: #14, 2007: #34, 2008: #95]

The six tracks that were in the YTD last week but not the audio streaming chart, their positions this week are:

#68 Coldplay - A Sky Full of Stars

#90 The Kooks - Naive

#92 Red Wine Supernova

#97 Tate McRae - It's ok I'm ok

#xx Toploader - Dancing in the Moonlight

#xx Coldplay - feelslikeimfallinginlove (Left YTD)

Dancing in the Moonlight is now the only song in the YTD to not have charted on audio streaming yet this year.

Ransom (#65 this week) and 505 (#79) have charted for both weeks on audio streaming but aren't in the YTD.

Go Your Own Way dropped out of the audio streaming chart this week, but entered the YTD.

Next week I'd anticipate entries from Wake Me Up, I Always Wanted a Brother and Denial is a River.

“Chasing Cars” too?

Just noticed Feel Good Inc sneaking onto the audio streaming chart, would be great if that could enter at some point too. Last Christmas, Toploader and Marvin Gaye to drop out this week?
“Chasing Cars” too?

Yep and Not Like Us too actually - forgot to think about the new entries.

Entering this week:

I Always Wanted A Brother

Denial Is A River

Another Love

Never a big surprise to see the latter, although I don’t think it’s appeared in the Audio Streaming chart at all yet.

Leaving this week:

Last Christmas

I Remember Everything

Ain’t No Mountain High Enough

"I Remember Everything" out before "Dancing In The Moonlight" :o

Doechii did a lot better in week 1 than I expected...
