seeing many of the influencers i follow are anxious about the fires and many resources have been shared in the past couple of hours. i saw some celebrities losing their homes too, e.g. paris hilton :(

My thoughts are with those that have lost their lives and the everyday people who have lost their homes and won't be able to afford new ones anytime soon.

While those sentiments I am sure are meant in a kind way, it's kind of cruel to dismiss the impact and trauma it will have on those who are "wealthy" and also lost their homes and probably precious items, including things from passed on family members. I was utterly distraught when my grandfather's watch was stolen even if I can easily afford a new one and in fact have far more expensive ones.

Most will be insured though as we are here. Can't get a mortgage here without insurance.
