Following the same structure used in the Dance and Electronic forum, we are going to run the same weekly poll for new pop and country releases in 2025. Each week, 8 new releases are selected to go head to head, with one weekly winner which will then go up against future weekly winners later in the year at the end of each quarter of the year, and then again at the end of the year to determine the ultimate winner of 2025.

Last week's results;

JADE – IT girl [ 20 ] ** [76.92%]

Olly Alexander – When We Kiss [ 3 ] ** [11.54%]

Julia Michaels x Maren Morris – Scissors [ 1 ] ** [3.85%]

Prima Queen – The Prize [ 1 ] ** [3.85%]

Teddy Swims feat. Givēon – Are You Even Real [ 1 ] ** [3.85%]

Dean Lewis – With You [ 0 ] ** [0.00%]

IDER – Attachment Theory [ 0 ] ** [0.00%]

Leony – By Your Side (In My Mind) [ 0 ] ** [0.00%]

Total Votes: 30

A landslide victory for former Little Mix star JADE with her promo single IT girl which secured many more votes than the rest of the songs in last week's poll. I am sure it is not the last time in 2025 she will win one of these!

Each week, choose one song only that you feel is your favourite from the selection of releases that week. If you wish to post a rate of the selection of songs in the thread, please feel free to do so.

Cher Lloyd – Head Down

Cian Ducrot – Who's Making You Feel It

Going for Cher Lloyd...

Though Marshmello, Bradley Simpson and Zoe Wees were all promising.

Here are my rankings for the pop releases this week;

1. Michael Marcagi – Midwest Kid

2. Kylie Minogue x YouNotUs – Someone For Me

3. Cian Ducrot – Who's Making You Feel It

4. Zoe Wees – Traitor

5. Bradley Simpson – Carpet Burn

6. Cher Lloyd – Head Down

7. Marshmello & Jonas Brothers – Slow Motion

8. Craig David – SOS

Traitor defo one of the more inspiring stuff from Zoe Wees but the bar is in hell x

would also recommend the following:

Matilda Mann – Just Because

charlieeeee, Phoebe Hall – KNOW ME

CHARLES – silence

I went for Marshmello & The Jonas Brothers. There's just something about it that I'm really enjoying at the moment.

Sorry to be predictable, but Kylie. My favourite song from Tension II and the remix is functional.

Fave to least:

Kylie Minogue x YouNotUs – Someone For Me (will always love that Ibiza sound, should have had a proper single push)

Marshmello & Jonas Brothers – Slow Motion (needs a middle eight/some development - it's an 8/10 but could be more)

Cian Ducrot – Who's Making You Feel It (enjoyed this quite a bit more than I expected to)

Bradley Simpson – Carpet Burn (one of the best solo songs I've heard from him)

Zoe Wees – Traitor (I heard this before it was 'released' as it was on a German album I bought called Mega Hits 2025 - Die Erste - it's decent)

Michael Marcagi – Midwest Kid (not massively my thing, but decent)

Cher Lloyd – Head Down (not as good as I was hoping it would be)

Craig David – SOS (why is he still pumping out tropical house)

It's amazing how Craig David can release some amazing singles and then some of the most boring singles. There's no inbetween! It's wild!

1 Michael Marcagi

2 Kylie Minogue

3 Cher Lloyd

4 Zoe Wees

5 Bradley Simpson

6 Craig David

7 Marshmello

8 Cian Ducrot

Not super impressed by anything this week but the Marcagi song is better than his big hit x
