I have a good feeling about this, the reception has been so positive and it feels like there's genuine hype around it.

I assumed it'd probably do worse than 'Disease' as second singles usually do less well and with a Monday release, but I'm starting to think maybe not... !

Consequence lists Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” as the 2nd best song of 2025 so far: “For the last decade, Lady Gaga has asserted herself as an actress. She’s always toyed with scale and theatricality,

Gaga's team needs to insta push this on US radio considering it has their full tracking week but radio is still hyperfixated on The Weeknd's new album so idk how much of an impact it will have
The verses are the weakest part of the song, her voice is too raw/vague for me and I don't like the way she sings in it, as if she had an egg in her mouth, it needed more layers and effects. The pre-chorus with that keyboard >>>. The bridge almost at the end is divine too.

Radio tracking days don't end on Sunday like they used to, it's been years since tracking ends on Friday along with streaming and sales so the song lost 3 days in all components already. The wisest move would have been to drop everything last Friday and perform it at the Grammys so the impact would be absolute, but we can't expect wisdom from Gaga's team and record company.

Pitchfork calls this her best single since Shallow. Rain on Me found shaking!!!

"When’s the last time Gaga released a single this good? It’s been a while. If “Shallow” counts, that’s still six years ago, and if not, we’d have to go all the way back to “G.U.Y.,” the killer final single from 2013’s much-maligned Artpop. [..]She’s still a cut above the average pop star; her real competition is the ghosts of Gagas past."

I haven't posted in here before but I just had to, Abracadabra is an absolute banger!! It's like Telephone and Judas mashed together and video is Gaga back to her creative best, does give throwback vibes to 2010-11. Best song she's done in years!

I think this will be a bigger hit than disease in the long run but I'm not sure she'll get a good debut in comparison. I really hope it surprises everyone and smashes it though. People have said about the timing of its release but to be honest, I'm questioning why the hell was this not released in October instead of Disease, this should have been the LG7 lead.

Apple Music US — Pop:

#27. “Abracadabra” — @ladygaga (+65) *new peak*

Hopefully it enters the main chart too!

Cutoff is #20, should do it in the next update!

Agreed!! Definitely should have been the lead! But it's nothing like Steps-lite cheese Judas
