Following the same structure used in the Dance and Electronic forum, we are going to run the same weekly poll for new indie and alternative releases in 2025. Each week, 8 new releases are selected to go head to head, with one weekly winner which will then go up against future weekly winners later in the year at the end of each quarter of the year, and then again at the end of the year to determine the ultimate winner of 2025.

Last week's results;

Nova Twins – Monsters [ 9 ] ** [60.00%]

Good Neighbours – Ripple [ 2 ] ** [13.33%]

The Lathums – Heartbreaker [ 2 ] ** [13.33%]

Sam Fender – Arm's Length [ 1 ] ** [6.67%]

Djo – Basic Being Basic [ 1 ] ** [6.67%]

Deacon Blue – How We Remember It [ 0 ] ** [0.00%]

Papa Roach – Even If It Kills Me [ 0 ] ** [0.00%]

The Darkness – Rock and Roll Party Cowboy [ 0 ] ** [0.00%]

Rock duo Nova Twins score a win this week with their edgy single Monsters, quite far ahead of the rest of the offerings last week, with Good Neighbours and The Lathums being the closest competitors.

Went for The Kooks this week!

Well done Nova Twins winning last week with their decent new track!

Sofia Isella

Everything else is far too Radio 2 for my liking.

The Manics included but I'll probably warm to their's.

Personal favourite this week -

SNAYX - Breathe

whoops don't think i particularly like any option here :kink: so went for SOFIA ISELLA but that song is easily one of the weakest from her so far oop x

my recommendations:

Deafheaven - Magnolia

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets - March on for Pax Ramona

1 SOFIA ISELLA

2 Julien Baker

3 Manic Street Preachers

4 Black Country, New Road

5 Snow Patrol

6 James Bay

7 Stereophonics

8 The Kooks

Playlisting my top 4 this week, pretty good list. I didn't care much for the previous Julien Baker/TORRES single but this one is much better. Also liking this Manics song more than their last single. 'Besties' is certainly a different sound from BC,NR and doesn't hit for me quite as much as the stuff from their last album off the bat but still good and I can see it growing on me.
