Great posts thanks for doing it, going by this Abba gold is the biggest selling album of all time in UK. There is always confusion surrounding Queen Greatest Hits as I think the greatest hits 1 and 2 combo is counted in by some which puts its sales around 7.2 million.

I think Gezza's way of counting makes more sense

the combo sales shouldn't be divided

same for ABBA

Really hoping the OCC do something about the greatest hits/streaming sales situation soon. The Highlights being the biggest album of the decade is absurd (of course The Weeknd is very popular but let's be honest, virtually nobody is consuming that album specifically and most listeners probably are barely even aware it exists)

So is Abba Gold the best selling album in the UK now taking streaming sales into account?

All depends on how you count Queen's GH. According to the OCC Queen are still ahead i believe

I just find it amazing that such an old studio album, more than 45 years old, can still be one of the 10 biggest studio albums of the decade so far. Especially when it had no big hits in the UK at the time - none of them made the top 20. Part of the secret is in still having 3 massively streamed songs: Dreams, The Chain and Go Your Own Way. But I think also the album itself, unlike many other albums, is genuinely streamed as a whole.

 

Rumous is also a "must have" in vinyl, everybody has it

It's currently top 20 in the vinyl charts

and this is how it's done since November, album went top 5 all around Xmas for 5 weeks so I guess it was a xmas gift

Both you give 1 stream to the parent studio album and one to theGH selling the most

Just shows since streaming GH are just dominant, I'd imagine Eds will be up there by decade ends,

 

Taylor having 8 albums so high is crazy tbf just imagine her having a GH , doubt she will though

If Taylor and Rihanna both had a greatest hits album they’d be #1 and #2 it’s wild.
