DR Congo beat Jamaica in extra time to qualify for their first World Cup since 1974 when they were Zaire.

Finals:

DR Congo 1-0 Jamaica (a.e.t.)

Iraq 2-1 Bolivia

The final two World Cup spots go to DR Congo and Iraq. Both have now qualified for the second time.

And that completes the full set of 48 countries/teams.

Not long until it kicks off now. Which happens to be on my birthday, June 11.

Saw this elsewhere from a Sports editor and have to agree. Good write-up.

"This World Cup's going to be a bit of a let-down I think. Too big and too many late night matches. Think England's QF would be at 2am.

Spain have got to turn up and play well, all the other teams are dire I think. France have never really played that well for all their quality. England like a worse version of France and shouldn't be third favourites. Portugal seem like they could be decent but still carting about an old donkey up front, Argentina are pretty poor even though they won the last I can't see them retaining it. Brazil are stinking yet they did beat Croatia 3-1 last night so maybe not. Petered out in second half though. Germany not kicked a ball in years. Holland as bad up front as the likes of Scotland. Can't see past Spain and if not Argentina. We'll make quarters with France and Brazil too.

That's before you take into account it being in America, who knows what shootings and madness will occur".

I would have been happy with any of these teams qualifying but it's probably fair that these two did as they had to go through the most elaborate dance to get to the play-offs in the first place.
