I voted for Star Trek as the original series and also put some of the spinoffs in my vote as well. Good to see the epic historical saga Outlander this high as well. It's been shifted around different TV channels and then different streaming services and the only way I can watch it now is by paying for each series when it appears in the Sky Store as the MGM+ streaming service that shows it currently is not available in Ireland.

Great to see these at last! I've gotta say had I actually finished Twin Peaks' original run before I voted, I'd have probably put it much higher and may have pushed it into the top 100 (I'm still wor

67 The Last of Us 85 points [more votes]

68 Masterchef Australia 85 points [less votes]

69 Killing Eve 84 points [more votes]

70 Dallas 84 points [less votes]

Going to assume the version of Dallas that's made it into people's votes here is the original series that ran from 1978 to 1991, with the revival of the show in 2012 only running for three seasons before ending again. Even if you've not seen Dallas (like me) I'm sure you'll have heard the names of characters like J.R. and Bobby. British spy thriller series Killing Eve marked Sandra Oh's first major role after leaving Grey's Anatomy and the show ended up being a major success, propelling Jodie Comer to new heights as an actress too, while the Australian version of reality cooking show Masterchef ends up high in the list - no Gregg Wallace in sight on this one to cloud memory and judgement? Currently airing its second season two years after the show began in 2023, The Last of Us is based on a video game franchise of the same name exploring a post-apocalyptic world several years into a pandemic. Definitely one that I want to check out soon despite having never played the games. And finally, This Is England had several versions of itself - with '86 being the first of those in 2010 through to '90 in 2015 (all following a feature-length film first edition released in 2006) - all of them receiving much critical acclaim.

It was the original series of Dallas that I voted for. It had huge viewing figures for most of its run. The revival wasn't bad, the last episode had three cliffhangers that will never be resolved.

Oh I missed this! Will read through properly later but your Corrie and Joseph comment almost made me spit out my tea laughing 🫖 🤣

65 Keeping Up Appearances 87 points [less votes]

Up next we have 1990s sitcom Keeping Up Appearances (starring none other than Clive Swift of Voyage of the Damned fame x), following the snobbery of Hyacinth Bucket. The show ran for five series until 1995 when Patricia Routledge decided to move on and quite honestly that's when you know a show's ended on a high note when they can leave a lasting legacy in place instead of driving it into the ground as producers sometimes (or a lot of the time) do these days. Just a little higher up than its predecessor, Star Trek: The Next Generation sneaks a place in the countdown with another series from the franchise still to come. American crime drama The Wire ran for five seasons from 2002 to 2008. Despite being deemed 'average' when it was released since the show ended it has amassed a cult following and is now widely considered one of the best TV series of all time. American sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine follows the detectives at the 99 in the NYPD and all of their escapades, birthing so many iconic characters, catchphrases and moments throughout its eight season run. Originally cancelled by Fox in 2018, the show returned for three seasons on NBC allowing for the perfect send-off the show deserved. And finally - the only version of Shameless that deserves to have placed in the top 100 or anywhere - created by Paul Abbott, Shameless ran for eleven series on Channel 4, following the lives of the Gallagher family and everybody else on the Chatsworth estate before pivoting and focusing on the Maguire family in later series'. Although the show took a bit of a dip in quality from its eighth series until it ended, it gave us some of the most loveable, brilliant, iconic, memorable characters of the 21st century - while always tackling some really hard-hitting storylines - and that scene of Carl and his hose will always be a gay awakening x

The third season of dark comedy drama/anthology series The White Lotus has just finished airing, and boy is this a show that has caused so much online discourse. From people finding the actors in the show attractive and being chastised for it, to some of the themes explored by the show. It's been a talking point and has had the likes of Theo James and Jennifer Coolidge all appear. Just ahead of that is Netflix series - creator Peter Morgan's 'love letter' to the Royal Family - exploring how Queen Elizabeth II came to reign and everything else that happened in between. While each block of two seasons explored a different time period of Elizabeth's reign - with three actresses portraying the role - everything came together well as one over the six seasons and, of course, towards the end we were brought almost up to date with everything that happened with Charles, Diana and a young William and Kate in their university days (something I managed to catch a glimpse of them filming while working in St Andrews magic). German sci-fi thriller series Dark ran for three seasons from 2017 to 2020 on Netflix following characters in the aftermath of a child's disappearance that unravelled a time travel conspiracy. Big Boys made a mark when it debuted on Channel 4 in 2022 and ran for three series before ending in January this year, giving us some loveable characters portrayed by Dylan Llewellyn and Jon Pointing, as well as featuring queen Camille Coduri herself. And finally we have Taskmaster, a show that's now in its nineteenth series on Channel 4. From humble beginnings on Dave, the show's gone from strength to strength and has become a staple of British comedy with so many incredible, unforgettable moments, with five comedians/TV personalities per series taking on outrageous tasks in a bid to win a golden sculpt of Greg Davies' head.

54 Father Ted 99 points [more votes]

Joseph found crying in a corner that Teen Wolf didn't even crack the top 50! brat The supernatural teen drama series ran for six seasons from 2011 to 2017 and has inspired a few other shows of a similar nature since. But if you can't get enough of Teen Wolf and are still sad it's gone, be sure to check out Joseph's Claws Out series #payolaplug. Another show created by a despicable transphobe that won't be named - Father Ted - comes in at #54 and that's all I have to say about that (sorry Father Ted fans x). The CW ends up doing quite well for itself with The 100 showing up close to the top half of the list. One of many post-apocalyptic dramas, The 100 aired from 2014 to 2020 with seven seasons, each one focused on a different chapter of what was happening to the humans as they tried to claw their way back to normality, peace and safety. Pose focused largely on New York's ballroom culture in the 80s and 90s and gave us so many amazing moments, embedding African-American and Latino culture into the show as well as tackling a lot of real, devastating issues that will feel all too reflective of where it feels like we're going back to now. And finally, just missing out on the top 50 is ABC's longest-running scripted show: Grey's Anatomy. The medical drama takes everything that happens in the hospital and the lives of the many, many characters it's introduced us to over the years, takes it to the highest heights possible, and the end result is a drama and a world and an ensemble that you can't help falling in love with and being attached to. Its twenty-first season is about to conclude, and with confirmation it'll be back for a twenty-second season there's more to come with Grey Sloan Memorial.

Dark really felt like lightning in a bottle, it was such a complex, ambitious and risky show that you'd never expect to become so big yet it worked so well, never lost itself and was allowed to finish at the right time, it was a real victory for new ideas, just a shame the creator's next show wasn't allowed to flourish in the same way.

I'll take that for Teen Wolf cheeseblock some fantastic shows have departed recently too - One Day at a Time, The 100, Big Brother Canada, Big Boys, The Apprentice heart

48 Peaky Blinders 107 points

49 Mr Bean 106 points [more votes]

50 Torchwood 106 points [less votes]

Outside the government, beyond the police. In at #50 is Doctor Who spin-off series Torchwood, led by John Barrowman. Torchwood undoubtedly gave us one of the finest pieces of television history in the form of Children of Earth for its third series, a more contained five part story which it then tried to replicate on a bigger scale with its fourth series Miracle Day. That didn't quite go so well despite still being a great story. Overall though we can say that while it had a shaky start trying to be too promiscuous and adult for its own good it's a great companion to its parent show. Mr Bean (are we talking animated or live-action?) shows up here. Silent comedy really attracts people, and having seen a few episodes of the live action series with Rowan Atkinson myself, it's not hard to see the appeal. Period crime drama series Peaky Blinders attracted a major fanbase over the course of its six series and is currently producing a feature film The Immortal Man for streaming on Netflix. South Korean series Squid Game took the world by storm with its deadly games when it first hit Netflix back in 2021 and the second season has not long been released with the third hitting Netflix next month. The series has also inspired reality competition show Squid Game: The Challenge which is well worth a watch. So let's see how things all end when Netflix loses another of its big hitters this year. And finally, you might ask what's to like about sitting down in front of the TV watching a group of characters... sit down in front of the TV? The Royle Family gave us many laughs from 1998 to 2012, having aired three series before going on to fill a traditional Christmas Day slot with a number of specials. Sadly Caroline Aherne is no longer with us and she was at the heart of the show, but we still have so many fun sitcom moments to look back on!

45 RuPaul's Drag Race UK 113 points

Arguably the biggest version of the Drag Race franchise outside the US main show and All Stars, RuPaul's Drag Race UK is up next. Giving platform to so many talented UK drag queens and showing what the UK scene has to offer the world, we've seen six queens crowned so far with a seventh season on the way this Autumn. Now give us UK All Stars, BBC! Big Brother US is played in a completely different way to its UK counterpart, being focused on gameplay, alliances, and actual competitive challenges for the contestants to participate in to earn special powers - the show has a major and fiercely loyal fanbase and it'll be back over the summer for its twenty-seventh season. Running from 1964 to 2006, Top of the Pops was the BBC's chart TV show featuring performances of some of the biggest and best-selling music of the week. For BuzzJack and music lovers in particular, this would be a TV show that would likely be welcomed back with open arms, but for now we'll have to settle for Live Lounge and Big Weekend being the BBC's way of promoting their beloved musicians. Australian soap Neighbours has had a rocky road - airing from 1985 and birthing characters played by actors who would go on to have massive careers (hi Kylie and Jason), the soap continued until 2022, before being picked up again, and ultimately being cancelled again. And finally, SUCH FUN. Miranda makes it into the top 50 with her self-titled sitcom. Could Miranda have gone on longer had the content controller for the BBC at the time her show was airing not loathed her with every fibre of his being? Probably. But the three series of the show and the finale specials we got are perfection and the rewatchability factor of every episode is what makes this a modern classic!

Two of the best of all time next to each other with The Wire and Next Generation then, both have given TV so much in completely different ways, TNG is full of timeless moments that are unmatched in introspective sci-fi, and The Wire.... just excellent on all fronts in its portrayal of Baltimore.

And DS9 in the top 40!!!

40 It's a Sin 119 points

Breaking into the top 40 now and up next is 2021 drama miniseries It's a Sin written by Russell T Davies. The series explores the HIV/AIDS crisis between 1981 and 1991 and also starred Olly Alexander of Years & Years fame (with several other links to Doctor Who too, it's RTD after all). It became the most binge-watched show on All4 - Channel 4's streaming service - and is critically acclaimed for the way it depicted HIV/AIDS. Just ahead of it is political satire/mockumentary series Parks & Recreation. Another American show that has birthed so many iconic characters, memes, funny moments. With characters like Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson at the helm, this was never going to be a dull show. Every character in the ensemble shines and it was sharply written until its conclusion with the seventh season in 2015. 90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel Air starred Will Smith and ran for six seasons, while Buffy the Vampire Slayer has become a cult classic with rumours always abound of the show being rebooted, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. The show began in 1997 and ran for seven seasons. And until it comes back fans will just have to keep waiting for more tidbits as it seems it edges ever closer. And finally, the UK's sister show to civilian series Big Brother, Celebrity Big Brother has kept us entertained (and sometimes enraged x) for twenty-four series now having aired on Channel 4, Channel 5 and now ITV with AJ Odudu and Will Best on hosting duties.

35 The X Factor UK 125 points

Up next it's The X Factor and while it was the show from the end of summer right through to Christmas for so many years, giving us so many incredible pop stars that have gone on to be forces in the industry, as well as giving us some absolutely terrible novelty acts that are best left in the past, maybe now The X Factor is starting to become remembered for how poorly it treated those involved in the show with all the accounts from past contestants coming to light. HBO drama miniseries Chernobyl focused on the disaster of the same name from 1986 and what followed in the aftermath, a one-off with much critical acclaim and awards. Modern Family gave us so many laughs over its eleven seasons from 2009 to 2020 and even recently the cast cock-teased us into thinking a return for the show was on the cards that ended up being a mere commercial for WhatsApp on the set of the Dunphy household. With so many iconic characters from Cam to Gloria to Claire, and even Phil at points when he wasn't being an absolute P A I N making Claire's life less than tolerable (although I fear that's something subject to debate because there are others that would say Claire was the thorn in Phil's side), this was a sitcom that you could just never tire of even if they did make some questionable decisions in the final season. And closing this section out we have Family Guy and The Walking Dead; the former an animated sitcom now in its twenty-third season and the latter a show that it seems went off the rails slightly but still held in high regard by fans and it's spawned spin-offs that keep those hungry for more entertained.

26 The Office (US) 152 points

27 The Vampire Diaries 138 points

28 Star Trek: Deep Space Nine 137 points

29 The Thick of It 135 points

30 Succession 134 points

American satirical comedy-drama series Succession is up next, it ran for four seasons on HBO from 2018 to 2023, another critically acclaimed TV show being hailed one of the greats of all time. From one black comedy series to another, political satire sitcom The Thick of It starred Peter Capaldi as spin doctor Malcolm Tucker and all his minions in the government and oh boy what a series this was. Truly, in my opinion, one of the greats. The cutting humour and the way they captured everything so perfectly over the course of four series was just excellent. Even smaller moments where the laughs weren't in your face, the scripts (and improv) just flowed brilliantly and effortlessly. And here we go @Iz 🌟 , not just making the top 40 but comfortably in the top 30 is Star Trek: Deep Space Nine! With seven seasons from 1993 to 1999 it was conceived following the success of The Next Generation, adding another great to the franchise. Repping The CW again is The Vampire Diaries, undoubtedly their biggest show that ran for eight seasons from 2009 to 2017 and has gone on to see its spin-off shows The Originals and Legacies have varying levels of success too; the former being considered better than the main show itself and Legacies being a bit more of a damp squib. That said, The Vampire Diaries gave us so much to love over its run, and the same can be said for The Office US. Very rarely does an American re-make of a British comedy (or any show, let's be honest) manage to capture the magic of its source material. The Office might be one example, however, where they take something from the UK and blow it up into something absolutely remarkable. An iconic series, so many iconic moments, a cast that you just love (or love to hate in some instances) so much. I thank whoever was behind the casting of John Krasinski too x

25 Happy Valley 159 points

British crime drama series Happy Valley caused quite the commotion when it aired its first series back in 2014, and rightly so because it was such a thrilling series. Starring Sarah Lancashire, Siobhan Finneran, James Norton and written by Sally Wainwright, the series blew everyone away and dare I say was possibly a trigger point for the BBC creating more event TV like that to replicate its success? Running from 1981 to 2003, Only Fools and Horses is one of the comedy greats. Regularly repeated on all the usual comedy channels and becoming part of British culture the show followed Del Boy and Rodney as they go through life attempting to get rich. The show ran for seven series originally before sporadic special episodes aired until its end in 2003. From 1993 to 2002 before being revived for tenth and eleventh seasons from 2016 to 2018. Another example of a TV show that outstayed its welcome and got messy towards the end? Possibly, but it amassed quite the fanbase so you're never going to keep everybody happy that want different things from the show and its ending. For six seasons Line of Duty has been one of the biggest titles on the BBC's roster, starting in 2012 and concluding its sixth season in 2021 the police drama series has had the internet in frenzies trying to work out what's going on, who's done what, and more, while finally Black Mirror had humble beginnings on Channel 4 before Netflix took over from its third season onwards. The show has just released its seventh season on Netflix, and while sometimes Black Mirror has suffered from feeling like it's been Americanised (and not in a good way), Charlie Brooker still manages to hit and not miss most of the time.

Top 20 time! And cracking it despite being relatively new compared to a lot of other shows appearing in the top 20 is Heartstopper. Airing a season per year on Netflix since 2022, the third season was released last year and now we're eagerly awaiting the feature-length film in place of a final fourth season that will wrap up Nick and Charlie's story. Besides the two lead characters' romance the show delves into so many different themes - particularly harder hitting ones in its third season - while still maintaining a positive, wholesome vibe throughout. Something that people have criticised the show for, but so what? One of the big soaps EastEnders makes it all the way up here while its counterparts are way further down the list. BuzzJack has spoken and EastEnders comes out on top of the soaps although I'm sure Joseph would disagree with that kink. American crime drama series Breaking Bad burst onto screens in 2008 and ended after five seasons in 2013, fast becoming one of the biggest shows of all time, regularly touted as the very best. It also gave way to spin-off series Better Call Saul. The Traitors UK is another relatively new one to make it high up in the countdown; Claudia Winkleman on hosting duties for a game of lies, deception and back-stabbing your way to the top to try and steal a big cash prize from a group of (mostly always) unsuspecting and dense faithfuls. The finale for series 2 was undoubtedly one of the biggest moments in reality TV history - everybody everywhere in the UK on tenterhooks waiting to see what was going to happen, and the reaction videos were insane. Long may the show continue as long as it doesn't meddle with its format too much and let that become its undoing. And finally we have The Sopranos, another American crime drama series that ran from 1999 to 2007. With six seasons, it too has become a show regarded one of the very best of all time, and influential.
