'Bloom Baby Bloom' charted at #65 on Friday - their highest charting single to date.

Really liking this too after a few listens, an unexpected and quite busy sound especially after the last era, but the chorus still hits hard.

'Bloom Baby Bloom' is bloody phenomenal, and what a video as well!

No one commenting on this album here yet? o:

I don't think this album has quite as many massive high moments as 'Blue Weekend' and I'm a little sad that there weren't any other songs that matched the unhinged vibes of 'Bloom Baby Bloom' leaving that sticking out like a sore thumb a bit but I thought it was very consistently quality, a lot of Fleetwood Mac vibes and even a little The Beatles-y on a couple of the songs near the end I thought. The first 2 singles are probably still the 2 best songs on there ('The Sofa' especially is up there with my favourite songs to date from them <3) but 'Just Two Girls' was a surprise groovy lesbian bop and 'Safe In The World' and 'Midnight Song' are standing out as some beautiful tracks as well, 'Play It Out' could be too as it started pretty slow but I was getting into it a lot more towards the end so probably one that'd grow on me with more listens. I think 'Bread Butter Tea Sugar' was the song that jumped out at me the least but it's still pretty good. x

I listened to it earlier in the week and thought it was probably going to be a grower... but then haven't actually returned to it ooops.

Like you, I was disappointed in everything being more tame than Bloom Baby Bloom and that was probably still my favourite on first play through. I can see your Fleetwood Mac comparison, it definitely does have their vibes to it. I left it feeling a bit torn as I always like it when bands are capable of doing something very different, but yet part of me just wanted another Blue Weekend as that was my favourite of theirs to date. More listens required!

Well this is one of the prettiest pressings I own:

I thought the album was good but not really blowing me away like their previous work. However, 'The Sofa' has been an almighty slow burner for me, adore that now. So hopefully some of the album tracks will click further with more listens.

That really is lovely <3

I didn't get it at the time but I sort of wish I had done. I think I was a bit sceptical that the finished product would be as nice as the mock up but all the photos I've seen of them suggest they are just like the promised design.
