January 4Jan 4 FINALLY REACHES SPOTIFY UK TODAY CHARTING AT #159!All the hysteria aside, I can't remember ever really being this invested in a songs success. I'm quite a commercial taste kinda person so usually the songs I adore are hits anyway, so watching my favourite song of the year (and probably the decade to be honest, but it feels potentially too early to say something like that) continually rise in notoriety for nearly SEVEN months, feeling like its opportunity had passed, watching a 10 year old song get hype in its place, only for Midnight Sun to then get another boost has been insane and so rewarding.Wherever it peaks now, I'm just glad she's managed to get a charting song from this era. It being her lowest charting album with 0 no top 100's from it, despite it being far and away her best album, has felt so unjust this entire time and the hype and love around this song has always felt like so much more than its chart success would've told you. Now the story will be painted slightly differently and it's SO SO SO deserved. 😭😭😭
January 6Jan 6 I'm torn between feeling a bit bummed that the deluxe is only JUST getting started as they could really do with capitalising on this rising success with something pretty soon, but also happy that it means they're not likely to just be throwing rejects on and there'll probably be some really good songs coming.Her next moves are really important as to whether she can ride this current wave of hype and I've seen her team f*** it up too many times now, they neeeeed to get this right.
