Gone Gone Gone is definitely the highlight, otherwise this feels like a bit of a superfluous release. It’s more a compilation of random remixes (most/all? of which were already available) than feeling like a cohesive remix album. At 8 tracks it’s really more of an EP than an album, like the American Life one for RSD. I’m happy to get anything new M-related don’t get me wrong, and if it wasn’t named “Veronica Electronica” I’m sure expectations wouldn’t have been so high, but it feels like a bit of a wasted concept.

A CD hasn't been announced yet. The only physical product is the vinyl for now.

I listened to this earlier and won't be going back to it.

It's not that I don't like remix projects - You Can Dance and Finally Enough Love were great - but this is just 7 not very good remixes and a demo at the end.

I don't like remixes that cut out half of the lyrics or that take the song too far away from the original.

With this album, it felt at times like I was listening to faceless dance music with a few Madonna vocals chucked over the top now and again.

Certainly something that I could have happily skipped over.

I feel like the skin remix is the highlight!!

Its a nice project mix of songs for me when u want to play Madonna but your friends don't want you too!

My vinyl come it really is stunning and i was lucky enough to get a lithograph ♥️

Starts off at #8 in the midweeks. Nice start but until we know sales I wouldn't count on it staying Top 40 just yet.

In the week Madonna celebrates the 40th anniversary of her first-ever UK Number 1 single Into the Groove, ‘lost’ remix album Veronica Electronica (8) could earn the pop icon a 24th Top 10 album. Originally intended as a companion LP to 1998 chart-topper Ray of Light, Veronica Electronica finally received its official release last week.

'Definitely Maybe' by Oasis is just below Madonna at #9 and had sold 3,180 at this point last week, so I think we can assume about 3k sales for Madonna. That would be enough to just stay Top 40 last week.

Edit: sales confirmed as 3,529 from Music Week!

That is very good sales for one VINYL!

If she doesn't sell a single extra copy, last week that sale would have got her #30 or #31 which is really above what I would have expected from this album.

Really quite impressive!

They're very encouraging sales for moving forward with similar releases - 'Bedtime Stories: The Untold Chapter' could end up doing really well for her if it does indeed include mostly demos (assuming it still ends up getting a release).

I listened to the album in full today and I really enjoyed it! I have to disagree with comments in this thread because I thought it was a cohesive listen with well-considered choices of remixes. Whilst 'Finally Enough Love' favoured a more commercial sound, the remixes here are darker and compliment the mood of the original album. 'Gone Gone Gone' is really sticking with me now, love the vocals!

I was expecting the album to be Top 5 today as i knew sales of an album like this would be front loaded, i know most of her sales are probably got now for this week but it should pick up a few more which might help it stay top 30.

Decent debut although I can’t see it adding much as the vinyl is out of stock in most places annoyingly

#11 on today's update - really good hold! I did hear that there was some delivery delays so that may explain matters.

I got my copy in HMV yesterday, my impact!

Clearly no Madonna stans work for the OCC with the lack of midweek data coming out ☹️
